If you would have told me a year ago that within months of Diablo III‘s release that I’d have it uninstalled from my computer, I would call you absolutely insane. Yet, here we are, in that same exact scenario. As I wait for Torchlight II to satisfy my itch to click, I’ve been casually eying up  the upcoming free-to-play ARPG Path of Exile.

The first thing that caught my eye was the passive skill grid. It’s huge! If you are at all familiar with the sphere grid from Final Fantasy X, you know exactly what to expect from Path of Exile. I can’t yet comment on whether or not the classes are actually interesting to play, but hopefully this weekend will give me a good idea.

There’s no current release date for Path of Exile, but it will be free-to-play. Hopefully whatever payment model they use won’t inconvenience the free-to-play users. Download the beta client from the official site.

During the day, he teaches high school kids about history. At night he kicks their butts in competitive games like Rocket League, Dota 2, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike. Disclosure: I've personally backed Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Dead State, SPORTSFRIENDS, Torment: Tides of Numera, STRAFE, and The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls. I have previously written for AbleGamers.com and continue to support them whenever possible (like HumbleBundle).
