This footage is allegedly from Star Wars Battlefront III. According to Kotaku, this was an in-house video shown during a Free Radical meeting in November — a month before Free Radical closed up shop. Battlefront III is rumored to be in the hands of Renegade, the company responsible for Star Wars Battlefront II and Renegade Squadron on the PlayStation Portable.
Even though the timing sucks, the game looked quite sharp while Free Radical was developing it. The opening doesn’t show much action, but it does reveal some smooth vehicle footage. Slick cut-scenes are interspersed with the signature action that brought gamers in droves to retailers for Battlefront II last generation.
The visual improvement is noteworthy, however I was most impressed with the snippet showing the Millennium Falcon being user-controlled. Lightsabers are nice, but nothing beats emulating Han Solo’s epic flight tactics.
