Final Fantasy X/X-2 for Switch doesn’t include both games on the card

In disappointing but not entirely unexpected news, Final Fantasy fans planning to grab the physical edition of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for Nintendo Switch will have to download X-2.

A note on the official site for the remastered collection confirmed as much. “Final Fantasy X HD Remaster available on game card. Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster game content is download only. Single-use voucher included. Internet connection required. microSD card may be required.”

Frustratingly, the Japanese and Southeast Asian versions will fit both titles on a single game card.

There was concern about a potential download requirement on Switch given that the PlayStation Vita version of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster came with a voucher for X-2, so it’s not like we didn’t see this coming, but that doesn’t make the situation any less vexing. Square Enix could have put in more effort for physical buyers. Instead, the company prioritized keeping its manufacturing costs down.

I hope y’all invested in a decent microSD card for your Switch. That internal storage sure goes quick.
