It’s that Type-0 spinoff
Final Fantasy Awakening is nearly out…in China. Yep, it’s another one of Square Enix’s hair-brained mobile schemes. This one is based off of Final Fantasy Type-0, which seemed to do well enough for itself to warrant a main entry, a remake, and now this spinoff, even if it doesn’t use the “Type-0” name.
It’s set in the same world, and features online multiplayer components and naturally, microtransactions. If you’re keen on trying out the beta on iOS and have access to a Chinese account, you can do so now. An Android version is also available on the Google Play storefront.
