Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light is a thing

Square Enix has today announced a Western release for Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light despite the fact that we already knew a Western release for Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light was coming. Nevertheless, if you missed the news of a Western release for Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light then consider this your official confirmation of a Western release for Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light.

The game is something of an attempt to capture “traditional” Final Fantasy gameplay, but apparently it’s so traditional that it’s not allowed to be considered part of the main Final Fantasy franchise, which ought to give you some clue as where Square Enix’s head is at these days. Nevertheless, this DS spin-off seems rather hopeful, not to mention cute, so that’s cool.

Check out the screenshots to confirm this is indeed a thing.
