Female fighters throwing down in MMA Supremacy

505 Games and developer Kung Fu Factory have confirmed that it will be including two real-life female MMA fighters into its upcoming title, Supremacy MMA.

Felice “Lil Dog” Herrig and Michele “Diablita” Gutierrez will be playable, making them the first playable female fighters in any MMA game to date.

“Bringing playable female fighters to fans in Supremacy MMA represents the strong stance we’re taking in bringing a totally unique game to market,” says 505 Games VP of marketing Peter Matiss. “Michele and Felice fight with the same ferocity and heart as any other fighter, regardless of gender, and we are proud to represent these strong, determined women in our game.”

This is usually the part where a male writer might make some kind of vaguely sexist comment about how “LOL these girls could totally beat me up LOL.” But let’s face it: a pre-schooler could throw down with me in an octagon and I’d tap out within 30 seconds.

MMA Supremacy is out this June for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; we played it awhile back, and it’s as brutal as it looks.
