F-Zero 99 updated – Ver. 1.0.2 full patch notes

Update your game and enjoy the retroactive fixes!

F-Zero 99 has been chugging along on the Nintendo Switch eShop, as one of several bonuses for Switch Online subscribers. As folks have been speeding through the retro-themed tracks though, they’ve noticed a number of small bugs popping up. Thankfully, roughly a month after launch, we’re getting an update that addresses some of those concerns.

How to fix the F-Zero 99 leaderboard and ranking bugs

Version 1.0.2 is live, which namely fixes a leaderboard issue, among weekly ranking problems. Oddly, you can retroactively fix the bug through an imprecise method that Nintendo denotes on the patch notes themselves: by “playing the game for a while.” Well, that clears things up!

Latest update: Ver. 1.0.2 (Released October 12, 2023)

  • Fixed Issues Related to Ranks
    • Fixed an issue where the leaderboard will show a playerā€™s level as ā€œ0ā€ when they reach level ā€œ99.ā€
    • Fixed an issue where the previous weekā€™s weekly ranking result sometimes cannot be obtained correctly. Fixed an issue where a specific badge cannot be obtained when this bug occurs even though conditions have been met.
    • Even when this bug has previously occurred, save data will be fixed by applying this update and playing the game for a while.
  • Other Fixes
    • Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

Hopefully, more of these are in the pipeline! A retro-tinted Zelda 99 would be rad.
