Once again, the ESRB reveals information regarding an unannounced release. This time, it relates to the first two games in Rockstar’s noir shooter series, Max Payne. The game ratings board is now listing Xbox 360 as a platform for the titles on their website. Interestingly, the games are not listed for PlayStation 3, suggesting that Microsoft may have scored an exclusive.

With the announcement of Max Payne 3 a week ago, it seems like Rockstar is looking to squeeze a little extra cash out its predecessors. No word yet on any release date, obviously, but it’s probably safe to say that the games will be available for download on Xbox Live sometime before this winter when the next iteration hits.

I haven’t played either Max Payne in a long time, but I might just have to download these when they come out. The method of storytelling the games use, with Max’s deep and brooding tone and graphic novel-style panels, really appealed to me when they were new and I had a lot of fun with them. How about the rest of you? Willing to give Max another run through in preparation for the new sequel?
