E3 10: A creepy look at Homefront’s ‘future history’

If Homefront isn’t on your radar yet, it will be soon. The story, which involves the Greater Korean Republic overtaking the United States in 2027 and you playing as “the resistance,” is being written by John Milius of Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn fame.

For me, that was enough; there’s a new teaser above if you aren’t quite there yet. We got our first glimpse of the game all the way back at E3 2009 — has it really been a year already? — and even in its relatively early state, I was impressed by what was shown.

The concept of fighting a war on the United States’ turf is something I’d like to see more videogames experiment with, and Homefront seems to be going in the right direction. You’ve seen Kaos Studios and THQ’s viral propaganda for it, haven’t you? Crazy stuff.
