Dragon’s Crown box art is [insert extreme opinion here]

Atlus has unveiled the final Japanese box art for Dragon’s Crown, the latest sidescrolling action title from Vanillaware, and it’s pretty tame from the looks of things. You almost wouldn’t guess that the game is currently embroiled in controversy over what’s being billed a salacious art direction. 

Still, the shrouded cover design seems unlikely to abate the cries of the pitchfork-wielding masses. At least Vanillaware, a perennially obscure development studio, is finally getting a bit of attention for once. Dragon’s Crown will release on July 25 in Japan and August 6 in North America.
