Don’t expect any new Elder Scrolls 6 details for ‘years,’ Pete Hines says

That will come ‘after Starfield’

For the past two years, us Elder Scrolls fans have been clinging to a 36-second teaser trailer for the next mainline entry: Elder Scrolls VI. Bethesda has been pretty mum on the whole project since then, but now we have a better idea of when more info is coming: “years” from now.

Responding to a fan inquiry on Twitter about when we can expect news on the new Elder Scrolls, senior vice president of global marketing & communications Pete Hines gave us a timeline: “It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.” Brutal!

We already knew that Starfield would be coming first release-wise, but now it’s clear that we aren’t getting info in ESVI for quite some time. Maybe we’ll get Starfield info in the next month or so during one of the many “instead-of-E3” streams that Bethesda is participating in? Either way, taking the Square Enix approach of announcing something seemingly in the planning stages years in advance is pretty bold.
