Deal North: $159 Wii, strange gift card deal and more

You probably already have a Wii. Hell, everyone you know probably already has a Wii. And maybe that’s why this sale price is so good.

Dell has a special “Hot Deal!” on Nintendo’s money printer. The system regularly retails for $199.99, but there’s a $40 discount today, giving you a new Wii for only $159. That price is competitive with the used price in game stores, and you’ll get the controllers without all of the grimy hand skank.

Walmart has this strange thing going on where you’ll get a $50 Walmart.com gift card if you pre-order “3 top games.” You’ll pick from 21 titles (PS3 or XBOX 360) in a list, pay $179 for the three, and then get a $50 gift card. Yes, it’s strange, but it works out to be a pretty good deal. There’s some good games in the mix, too. I’d do Dead Rising 2 and Gran Turismo 5, at least.

And since I’ve been throwing in a non-game bonus, here’s a nice one. Back at Dell, they have a 1.5TB external USB 2.0 drive for $84. Back up that porn.
