Dead By Daylight killer tier list: All DbD killers, ranked

Choose the best Killer.

In Dead by Daylight, you’ve got two main roles: you’re either a survivor or the killer. If you’re the killer, your job is straightforward: capture and sacrifice the survivors before they manage to repair the generators and make their escape through the exit gate.

With 40 Killers in Dead by Daylight, each with their own unique abilities and add-ons, choosing the right one is a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’ve put together a tier list of all Killers in Dead by Daylight.

S-Tier

  • The Blight
  • The Nurse
  • The Executioner
  • The Lich
  • The Hag

S-Tier Killers are your best bet if you want to make a lot of sacrifices. They’re really powerful, but their abilities can be a bit challenging to master. The Nurse, for example, is probably the best killer in the game and almost impossible to win against if its player is skilled enough. The Hag is similar, also able to teleport and waltz around the map, taking down everyone with lethal speed.

However, both need incredible playtime and skill to use, as do the rest on this list, so if you’re after something simpler, A-Tier Killers are a solid choice.

A-Tier

  • The Mastermind
  • The Wraith
  • The Dark Lord
  • The Spirit
  • The Xenomorph
  • The Huntress
  • The Ghoul
  • The Houndmaster

These A-Tier Killers are what you should aim to unlock, as they can help you excel in the game without breaking much sweat. Some may require a bit of skill, such as The Ghoul, but their overall power lies in their efficiency and ease of use.

Their raw strength is not so much different in terms of strength with the S-Tier Killers, but with time, you might have to switch to S-Tier Killers if you are getting matched with the veteran players.

B-Tier

  • The Good Guy
  • The Doctor
  • The Nemesis
  • The Knight
  • The Singularity
  • The Trickster
  • The Artist
  • The Unknown
  • The Animatronic

Honestly, these B-tier killers are good to use, but only to a certain extent; therefore, if you are planning to grind, you should look for high-tier Killers.

The reason is simple: they’re overtly complex without having enough of a trade-off to warrant spending currency on them. For example, the Singularity is fun and strong, but his overreliance on his abilities makes his performance lackluster at best.

The same goes for the latest killer, The Animatronic, who seems like a watered-down version of the Xenomorph. And, if that’s the case, why not pick the latter instead?

C-Tier

  • The Legion
  • The Dredge
  • The Plague
  • The Oni
  • The Deathslinger
  • The Pig
  • The Twins
  • The Trapper

These C-Tier Killers are good for beginners who want to grasp the game dynamics of Dead by Daylight. However, it doesn’t change away the fact that these Killers are generally weaker than the rest of the roster with their basic weapons and abilities.

D-Tier

  • The Shape
  • The Cannibal
  • The Ghost Face
  • The Onryo
  • The Nightmare
  • The Clown
  • The Skull Merchant
  • The Demogorgon
  • The Cenobite

D-tier killers are best avoided because they don’t offer much of an advantage against survivors. If you’re just starting out, it’s a good idea to aim for higher-tier Killers instead. They’ll give you a better shot at success in the game.

The exception here would be The Cenobite, though his incredible complexity and weird, out-of-the-ordinary gameplay leave much to be desired for most players who can spend their time mastering some of the top-tier killers listed above.
