Crash Bandicoot is still around, uses psychic powers to kill things

Recommended Videos

A million years ago in Internet time, our very own Hamza travelled to the Sierra Spring Event to get a bunch of impressions. One of the games he got his hands on was Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant. In his preview, Hamza detailed a bit of Crash’s new power that doesn’t involve go-karts – his psychic abilities.

In the above trailer, the announcer gleefully cries that Crash can use enemies’ powers to fight, well, enemies. The process of controlling enemies is fairly simple. Just walk up to an enemy, give him a little bit of a pummeling and then jump on his head. Unlike in Robocop 2 finale, ripping out the brain and spinal cord is not advised nor does it help control anything. But Kane sure got his, didn’t he?

I can’t say the presentation is too effective, but this video really has me wondering where Crash has been all of these years. My most vivid memory of Crash was during that ad-campaign Sony had for awhile with the mascot gallivanting around Nintendo’s office talking smack about Mario.

Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant is due out in October for the Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PSP, Jaguar, and Atari 2600.
