Halo Campaign Evolved offers many weapons to equip as Master Chief, and some of them are definitely better than the rest. In this guide, I will explain which weapons are good and which are better left alone.

Halo Campaign Evolved weapons tier list

I have used three different tiers and tables to separate all the available weapons.

  • S-tier weapons are the best. They’re overpowered, easy to use, and get the job done.
  • A-tier choices are decent alternatives. They are strong but have slight weaknesses that you will need to manage.
  • B-tier choices are difficult to master, and they will require a lot of time and effort from you.

S-tier

NameReason
Sentinel BeamA powerful weapon that’s accurate, does decent damage, and is easy to obtain from Sentinel Robots.
Energy SwordNo other weapon feels as powerful as the Energy Sword. Simply equip it and slice through opponents like they’re made of paper.
Assault RifleThe Assault Rifle combines decent firepower, good fire rate, and recoil control, making it easy for beginners and veterans alike.

A-tier

NameReason
Rocket LauncherThe Rocket Launcher is powerful. It has very limited ammo, and you need to know when to use it for best results.
Beam RifleThe Beam Rifle sometimes misfires in my experience, which is the major reason it’s A-tier. Otherwise, it’s a really solid pick.
Sniper RifleIf you like to play from a distance and have great aim, the Sniper Rifle is a very effective choice, especially in multiplayer.
Fuel Rod GunThe Fuel Rod Gun is fun and has decent damage, but the ammo can be tough to manage.
SpikerThe Spiker is not exactly efficient, but I have a lot of fun with it, and the in-game effects are super amusing to look at.
Brute Plasma RifleBig guns do big damage, and the Brute Plasma Rifle is a great example of this.

B-tier

WeaponReason
Needle RifleNot the strongest of weapons, the Needle Rifle is still a good backup.
Plasma RifleDespite having decent damage, the Plasma Rifle is definitely not as strong as the Assault Rifle.
NeedlerA good secondary weapon that gets the job done.
Battle RifleAn extremely efficient weapon but lacks in firepower
ShotgunGetting close enough to an enemy to make the weapon effective is not my cup of tea. If you like that kind of play style, the shotgun can be considered A-tier.
MagnumThe Magnum has decent damage, but it’s very difficult to work around with.

There are two guns missing from the tier list: Plasma Pistol and Submachine Gun. These two are the weakest weapons in my book, and you should avoid them at all costs.
