If you’re up for doing your best Neymar or Mbappe impression, with a nice amount of anime flair, then this game is the right pick for you. Its four styles are all powerful, but you know what they say—there’s levels to this stuff. Let’s dive right in and lay out our ultimate Azure Latch styles tier list

All Azure Latch Styles Ranked

Azure Latch styles are pretty well balanced against each other and there’s no bad option. My rankings are simply based on which style is more flexibile and which style has more overpowered moves. Styles that meet one or more of these prerequisities are in the higher tiers and those less overpowered but still viable ones in the lower tiers. Check out our ranking reasons below as well as all Azure Latch Style moves listed.

Nagi Full Moveset in Azure Latch (S Tier)

If you’re looking for a playstyle that balances sheer firepower with smooth control, Nagi is easily one of the best choices. He’s sitting comfortably in S-Tier for a reason—his mix of powerful shots and deceptive footwork makes him a nightmare for defenders.

Whether you’re blasting a shot from across the field or tricking opponents with quick movements, Nagi gives you all the tools you need to dominate the game. Here’s a breakdown of what makes him so strong:

Fake VolleyThis move is all about mind games. You set up as if you’re about to take a shot, only to cancel it at the last second. It’s a great way to bait out goalkeepers or defenders, making them react too early so you can follow up with a real shot or pass. Mastering this move will let you create openings where none seemed to exist.
Control (Near Ball)Nagi’s signature control ability lets you take command of the ball like no one else. If you’re near the ball, you can activate this move to smoothly catch and reposition it. In Awakening, it becomes even stronger—if you use it on the right side of the enemy goal, you’ll set yourself up for a shot from an incredibly difficult-to-block angle. This move gives you full control over your scoring opportunities, making it one of the most powerful utility moves in the game.
Heavy (Ball Only)A shot that combines deception and power. You start with a fake-out leg kick, tricking defenders into thinking you’re passing or repositioning. Then, at the last moment, you unleash an incredibly powerful curving shot. The curve on this shot makes it hard to predict and block, giving you an edge even against skilled goalkeepers.
Nice to Meet You, Japan (Awakening)This is where Nagi’s offensive power goes into overdrive. This move gives you a high-power shot with massive range, making it extremely difficult for goalkeepers to stop. If you find an opening, you can fire this off from far away and still have a strong chance of scoring. It’s the perfect way to punish teams that leave too much space.

Overall, if you like a playstyle that lets you score from anywhere while keeping defenders guessing, Nagi is your guy. His combination of raw shooting power and tricky movement makes him one of the most dangerous styles in the game.

Michael Kaiser Full Moveset in Azure Latch (S Tier)

Kaiser’s playstyle is all about dominance—raw, overwhelming power combined with refined precision. His base moveset gives you multiple ways to pressure defenses, while his Awakening unleashes some of the flashiest finishers in the game.

Fashioned with the likes of Platini, Ballack and Beckenbauer in mind, this German approach is all about efficiency and wowing the opponent when it’s too late for them to do anything but admire your craft. As for Kaiser’s abilities, you’ll have access to:

Kaiser ImpactThis is your bread-and-butter shot. Think of it as a Direct Shot on steroids—faster, stronger, and deadlier. There are no invincibility frames tied to it, which means you’re vulnerable while winding up, but if you catch defenders off guard, it’s one of the cleanest ways to slam the ball into the net. Its 28-second cooldown keeps it in regular rotation, so you’ll find yourself relying on this for quick, high-power finishes.
Off The Ball It’s, without a doubt, one of Kaiser’s most underrated tools. You don’t need possession to activate it, and it grants invincibility while repositioning you around the field. Whether you’re dodging an opponent, getting open, or prepping for an aerial, this move is perfect for setting up plays and staying one step ahead.
DribbleIf you don’t want to rely on volleys alone, this one adds a layer of danger to Kaiser’s ground game. It’s a counter-based move that comes with iFrames—if you time it correctly, you’ll slip past an incoming defender and keep your momentum going. But mistime it, and you’ll be stunned for a second, which is all it takes to lose the ball and control of the match. Risky, but incredibly rewarding when mastered.
Kaiser Impact: Magnus Last but certainly not least, this ability elevates things with a vicious curve and built-in iFrames, allowing you to curve the ball around defenders while staying untouchable mid-shot. It takes a little more time to charge and has a slightly longer cooldown, but the ability to break past defensive walls with style makes it an essential move in tight matches.

How to Hit Kaiser Impact in Azure Latch

Unlike most OP abilities in the game, Kaiser Impact and all its variants don’t have a specific trigger, which means they can be treated as regular shots, which is amazing if you don’t want to telegraph all your moves. Still, here’s how to hit Kaiser Impact in Azure Latch in the form of its last two variations:

  • Get into your Awakening phase. Once Awakening kicks in, Kaiser unlocks two devastating moves. Kaiser Impact: Beinschuss, also known as the Nutmeg variant, is flashy and brutal. You bait the opponent into tackling you mid-shot, and if they fall for it, you launch the ball through their legs in a powerful counter. It’s an instant crowd-pleaser that also ends your Awakening, so timing and setup matter more than ever.
  • Then there’s Kaiser Impact: Blitzkrieg, the crown jewel of his arsenal. This move can be triggered from the ground or while airborne, making it incredibly versatile. It’s packed with iFrames, has a long one-minute cooldown, and delivers a lightning-fast strike that’s almost impossible to react to if you position it right. When used during a breakaway or at the end of a combo, it becomes a game-ending finisher.

Sae Full Moveset in Azure Latch (S Tier)

Sae might not have the raw offensive firepower that Nagi brings to the table, but what he lacks in brute force, he more than makes up for with versatility, control, and defense.

In case you’d like a playstyle that lets you break ankles, shut down steals, and make game-changing passes, Sae is the perfect pick. He’s the most well-rounded style in the game, giving you the ability to both dominate possession and set up incredible plays. Here’s why Sae is a force to be reckoned with:

Magic Turn (Ball Only) This move is your ticket past defenders. Instead of just dashing forward, Magic Turn lets you curve around an opponent, making it almost impossible for them to react in time. If you ever find yourself blocked, just hit this move and glide past them effortlessly.
Nutmeg (Counter) If someone thinks they can steal the ball from you, they’re in for a rude awakening. Nutmeg isn’t just a counter—it completely stuns the opponent, leaving them helpless while you continue moving. If you time it right, you can turn their aggression against them and immediately push forward for a scoring opportunity.
Curve Shot (Ball) Unlike straight-line power shots, Sae’s Curve Shot is all about finesse. You can aim it to curve around defenders and goalkeepers, making it one of the hardest shots to block. It takes some practice, but once you master it, you’ll be scoring from angles your opponents won’t see coming.
Magic Pass (Pass) As one of the best playmakers in the game, Sae has an insane long-range passing ability. Magic Pass lets you send an automatic curved pass exactly where you need it to go. Whether you’re setting up a teammate for a goal or escaping a tough situation, this pass will give you the control you need.
You’ll Never Surpass Me (Awakening) This move takes everything great about Magic Turn and dials it up to the max. Instead of just bypassing an opponent, you fake them out, slip behind them, and immediately set up a powerful shot that can be taken from up to half-field. It’s a devastating mix of dribbling, misdirection, and finishing power.

Sae is all about playing smart. If you like outmaneuvering opponents instead of just overpowering them, he’s an absolute monster. You can break through defenses, counter attacks, set up plays, and still have a deadly shot in your arsenal. If you’re looking for the ultimate all-rounder, Sae is your best bet.

Shidou Full Moveset in Azure Latch (A Tier)

Love playing aggressively and constantly pushing for goals? Then Shidou is the perfect style for you. He isn’t about finesse or playmaking—he’s about relentless offense and overwhelming your opponents with raw firepower.

However, he takes some practice to master. You need to be fearless, always looking for openings, and willing to throw yourself into every scoring opportunity. Once you get the hang of it, though, Shidou becomes an absolute menace on the field. Here’s what makes him one of the most dangerous offensive styles in the game:

Dragon Header This is your bread and butter. You leap forward and headbutt the ball mid-air, sending it flying straight toward the goal. If you position yourself correctly near the net, this move is ridiculously hard to block. Goalkeepers barely have time to react, and defenders can’t stop you once you take off.
Back Heel Shot A sneaky way to fire off a shot when defenders least expect it. It’s similar to Isagi’s Direct Shot, but with slightly less power and range. What makes it dangerous is how quickly you can use it—if you find yourself in the right position, you can get a shot off before anyone even realizes what happened.
Big Bang Drive (Awakening 1) This is where Shidou starts becoming a real problem for defenders. You perform a backwards scissor kick, launching the ball toward the goal with insane speed and accuracy. The kicker? You can score with this from half-field. If you ever get space to line it up, it’s one of the most satisfying ways to put points on the board.
Dragon Drive (Awakening 2) If you thought Back Heel Shot was dangerous before, this version cranks it up to another level. Dragon Drive gives it way more power and range, making it even more like Isagi’s Direct Shot and MY DIRECT SHOT. The difference? Shidou thrives in chaotic, close-range fights for the ball, meaning he can fire this off in situations where other styles might struggle.

Shidou is pure offense—if you aren’t constantly attacking, you aren’t playing him right. He forces you to stay aggressive, always look for scoring opportunities, and overwhelm defenders before they can react. Given you can handle his high-risk, high-reward playstyle, you’ll be an unstoppable force on the field.

Don Lorenzo Full Moveset in Azure Latch (A-Tier)

If you’re the type of player who loves disrupting the enemy team, bullying attackers, and turning defense into instant offense, Don Lorenzo is your guy. He’s built like a tank with the reflexes of a thief—an elite defensive powerhouse with a surprisingly tricky offensive toolkit. He’s not flashy like Shidou or surgical like Sae, but when played right, he can completely shut down enemy plays and flip the game on its head in seconds.

Here’s what makes Don Lorenzo an absolute menace on the field:

Zombie DribbleThis is your go-to for slipping through defenders while holding the ball. It gives you iFrames and a weird, lurching movement that makes it hard to predict and even harder to stop. You’ll look like a walking glitch—and defenders will hate it.
Undead CrashGot a teammate nearby? This is a brutal offensive move that uses your positioning to slam through the opponent. It’s like a coordinated body check that leaves defenders scrambling while you break past them. The catch: you need a teammate close to trigger it. But if you set it up right, it’s unstoppable.
Defensive StanceYou don’t even need the ball for this. Activate it to take a hardened stance with iFrames, letting you tank through pressure and lock down attackers trying to break through. It’s perfect for holding space, baiting attacks, or stopping fast breaks in their tracks
Horrific InterceptOne of the scariest interception tools in the game. If the ball’s in the air near you, you can snatch it mid-flight with a terrifying grab that shuts down crosses and long balls. Combine this with smart positioning and you’ll completely neutralize aerial plays.

However, you should definitely master Don Lorenzo’s set of awakening moves, perhaps the main reason he’s so high in this Azure Latch tier list.

“Yo, Michael.” (Success Variant)This one’s a quick-time event (QTE) where you break your opponent’s ankles and steal the ball in style. If you hit the QTE right, it’s one of the most satisfying steals in the game. You get iFrames and completely flip possession in your favor.
“Yo, Michael.” (Failed Variant)Miss the QTE and you get your ankles broken instead. Risky, but the payoff is worth it when you nail it.
Ace EaterThis is a monster of a counter move. When you have the ball, Ace Eater lets you absorb incoming pressure and flip it back on your opponent with a powerful retaliatory move. It’s a pure outplay tool—great for punishing anyone who thinks they can shut you down easily.

Rin Full Moveset in Azure Latch (A-Tier)

azure latch tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

Rin is the definition of balance. If you want a style that can do it all—shoot, dribble, defend—Rin delivers across the board. He brings clean offensive pressure with one of the best Curve Shots in the game, slippery movement that makes it hard for defenders to predict your next step, and even a counter move to punish aggressive players. Rin isn’t about overwhelming force or flashy gimmicks—he’s about cold, calculated domination. If you want versatility without sacrificing power, Rin is your guy.

Here’s how Rin lets you control the flow of the game:

Occlusion BreakThis is Rin’s key movement tool, and it’s loaded with iFrames. You can use it to dash through opponents, reposition instantly, or dodge incoming attacks with ease. It doesn’t require the ball, so it’s perfect for closing in on plays, escaping pressure, or just breaking through defensive formations. If you master its timing, you’ll become incredibly hard to pin down.
Fake ShotA simple but deadly move that lets you fake out defenders and goalkeepers alike. You need to have the ball to use it, but when you do, it gives you iFrames and makes defenders bite on a shot that never comes. It creates just enough space for you to slip past them or follow up with a real shot a second later.
Curve ShotThis is Rin’s signature offensive tool—and it’s one of the best in the entire game. The curve makes it tricky for goalkeepers to track, especially if you aim it around defenders or from sharp angles. You’ll need to master your shot timing, but once you do, Curve Shot becomes a lethal weapon from almost anywhere inside the opponent’s half.
Awakening (The Destroyer)Rin’s Awakening doesn’t even require you to have the ball, which is huge. Once activated, you get enhanced speed, movement, and playmaking potential. You can chain it with other abilities to apply constant pressure or position yourself for a decisive goal. It lasts a full 50 seconds, giving you more than enough time to turn the tide of the match.

Isagi Full Moveset in Azure Latch (B Tier)

Just because Isagi is in B-Tier doesn’t mean he’s weak—far from it. If you like a straightforward, no-nonsense playstyle with powerful long-range shots, Isagi is a solid pick. It’s just that he takes some time getting used to, that’s all.

He might not have Sae’s insane dribbling or Shidou’s hyper-aggressive offense, but what he does have is pure, reliable shot power. His Direct Shot and MY DIRECT SHOT are some of the best long-range moves in the game, and his Two Gun Volley is almost impossible to block when used correctly. Here’s what you’re working with when playing Isagi:

Direct Shot (Ball Only) This is your main scoring tool. It’s a high-power, straight-line shot with excellent range, making it one of the most reliable moves in the game. If you get a clean shot on goal, this is your go-to move. It might not have the unpredictability of Sae’s Curve Shot, but it gets the job done with sheer force.
Naruhaya Footwork While Isagi’s dribbling isn’t as flashy as Sae’s Magic Turn, this move gives you a bit of evasion. You take a quick step back, then surge forward with a powerful dash. It’s useful for creating space before taking a shot, or for dodging an incoming defender right before they try to steal the ball.
MY DIRECT SHOT (Awakening 1) This is where Isagi starts to shine. It’s a supercharged version of his Direct Shot with insane range—over half the field. If you’re good at positioning and reading the game, you can catch opponents off guard by scoring from ridiculous distances.
Two Gun Volley (Awakening 2) This is Isagi’s best move. It trades the range of MY DIRECT SHOT for near-unblockable accuracy at mid-range. If you get close enough, goalkeepers are going to have a rough time trying to stop it. If you position yourself well, this move can be a game-winner.

Isagi is all about fundamentals. He doesn’t have fancy dribbles or overwhelming pressure, but he makes up for it with some of the best shot power in the game. If you prefer a balanced playstyle that focuses on solid positioning and precise shooting, Isagi is a great pick.

How to Shoot with New Ball Physics in Azure Latch

azure latch styles tier list
Screenshot by Destructoid

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you might’ve seen the myriad of complaints targeting the new, wonky (according to some) ball physics. So, what’s going on? Well, in the latest update, two things were changed:

  • Curvature rate of the ball. When you hit a curve shot now, the trajectory won’t be slightly bent, making it trickier for the defender. Now, the ball travels more like it would in real life, losing momentum. This means you won’t be able to launch those long balls and fool the goalkeeper.
  • There’s no more slowdown in the penalty box. Before, there was a small speed debuff once you entered the box, but now your character can move unimpeded entirely.

So, if you’re not sure how to shoot with the new ball physics in Azure Latch, let’s take a look at what you can do to adapt to the change. First and foremost, don’t go farther away from the penalty area. Not only will you get tackled, but you also won’t be able to get that much power into your curve shots. In that regard, you don’t need to think outside the box but more INSIDE of it, if you know what I mean.

In the picture above, the three grass squares are highlighted. They’re about as optimal as you can get when it comes to finding a place you can shoot from. You’ll always have a direct sight of the goal, and you’re also close enough to negate the effects of the increased curvature. Whether it’s one of your Awakening abilities or just a good ol’ knuckleball, you won’t have too many issues finding impact from this spot. Other than that, I’d recommend practicing alone against an AI goalkeeper to get a better feel of how you should not just shoot but also pass and deflect.

That’s it for my Azure Latch styles tier list. Check out more of our Roblox guides.
