Now that we’ve completed a necessary interlude in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Honeyglow Woods questline, it’s time to continue with our main chapter missions. We’re now ready to enter Gloommeadow and meet Eeyore for the first time during Chapter 4: A Tail Tale.

How to complete Chapter 4: A Tail Tale in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Chapter 4: A Tail Tale begins immediately after finishing Interlude: The Misplaced Honey. During the mission, we collected resources to unlock Gloommeadow, which we can now freely explore alongside Winnie the Pooh.

Finding Eeyore in Gloommeadow

As you travel north through Gloommeadow, you’ll encounter several broken buildings, including a Wishing Well you can rebuild for 2,500 star coins. More importantly, we’ll find Eeyore directly north of the Wishing Well.

As you talk to Eeyore, he’ll mention that he lost his tail. He can’t find it anywhere, so our player character offers to search for it within a nearby dried-up riverbed or make a “substitail” if we can’t find it. Unfortunately for us, as you approach the river, you’ll find a pile of debris blocking it.

Craft a new home for the hedgehogs

After deducing that the hedgehogs are likely responsible for building the dam blocking the river, everyone decides to make a new home for them. You’ll need the following materials to craft this home for the hedgehogs:

  • Six Hardwood
  • Five Juniper Berries
  • Two White and Pink Foxglove
  • Six Soft Limestone

Hardwood, Soft Limestone, and White and Pink Foxglove are all available in both biomes we’ve unlocked so far, while Juniper Berries spawn exclusively in Gloommeadow and another biome we’ve yet to access. You’ll find hardwood on the ground near trees, Soft Limestone from mining spots, and White and Pink Foxglove as a random flower spawn in both biomes. Juniper Berries grow on berry bushes in Gloommeadow, with new batches respawning every 25 minutes.

Once you have all four materials, head to the crafting station east of the Wishing Well to make the hedgehog companion house. Now, you can find it in your Furniture Menu and place it down to start searching for some hedgehogs to befriend.

Feed a hedgehog

Our next goal is to feed a hedgehog some fruit or Golden Honey. They behave like regular companions, except they can feel shy and curl up into a ball if you approach them. Wait for them to relax before giving them some food.

Each hedgehog’s schedules and locations are as follows:

By this point in the story, your best bet is to search for a Classic Hedgehog, as they’re available all the time. Depending on the time of day, you might be able to find a Green Hedgehog as well, unless you’re playing in the afternoon or evening in your local time zone. Once you find a hedgehog, feed it some Golden Honey or fruit to advance the quest.

You’re now ready to talk to Eeyore and break the debris blocking the river. Along the way, you’ll spot two items in the river that you’ll need to fish out. Grab them both before returning to Eeyore to begin testing new substitails. Sadly, he’s not a fan of the tails, causing Pooh to run off to find another one.

Finding Eeyore’s tail

After digging the small umbrella out of the ground, bring it to Eeyore to try out. Pooh celebrates Eeyore liking the tail by suggesting that the three of you play Pooh Sticks by the bridge. Interact with the sign in front of the bridge to start playing.

After playing a round of Pooh Sticks, you’ll discover Eeyore’s Tail under the bridge. Fish it out before returning it to him. Giving Eeyore the tail will complete Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Chapter 4: A Tail Tale quest, leading directly into Chapter 5: The Big Red Monster.
