Bungie.net integrates PSN accounts into new website

Along with Facebook and Google accounts

In the minds of most gamers, Bungie is still synonymous with Microsoft and the Xbox. But the studio appears to be broadening its audience with the recent update to its website.

Bungie.net now gives players the option to log in through the use of a Facebook, Google, or even PlayStation Network account. The new site is still in beta, but the current services available to players are the forums with revised tag searching and private group threads.

More and more features will come down the line in the coming months, to help prepare for the release of Bungie’s next game, Destiny. I love the kind of stat tracking that Halo Waypoint, Battlelog, or Call of Duty Elite offer to players, so hopefully Bungie can implement a similar system into this next title. Still, logging onto Bungie.net with a PlayStation Network account just seems…odd to me.
