Boy Soprano is the weirdest platformer ever

Indie prog-rockers Xiu Xiu make weird music. Really weird. And they make videos to match. The above video, “Boy Soprano” from their 2006 release Air Force, puts band-members Jaime Stewart and Caralee McElroy in a Happy Tree Friends-esque platformer. Mix the Mario video , “Do the Whirlwind”, political commentary, and, I don’t know … say Castlevania, and you have “Boy Soprano”.

As weird as Xiu Xiu are, Air Force is their most poppy album yet — that should tell you something about their earlier work. I like some of their music, but some of it is a little too post-modern for my tastes. What do you all think?
