Best ways to spend Undying Starlight in Honkai: Star Rail

Our first special currency is Undying Starlight. It can only be spent on the Starlight Exchange accessible from the in-game store.

At first glance, it may be tempting to spend your starlight on buying Star Rail Passes or even Star Rail Special Passes. Even though it only costs 20 starlight to purchase these items, we recommend saving it up until you have the hefty amount of 600 required to purchase a five-star light cone. A majority of these five-star light cones are the current best-in-slot options for most popular builds.

In order to get more Starlight in Honkai: Star Rail you simply have to do more Warps. Every time you Warp you will get a little bit of Starlight for each character or light cone. Once you’ve maxed out the Eidolon’s for a character you will get more for getting them in a Warp. Five-star characters and light cones give the most Starlight.

Undying Embers can only buy items on the Embers Exchange. Like Starlight, you receive Embers each time you Warp.

Whenever you hit trailblaze level 40 you should be sure to spend your Embers on the Tracks of Destiny. This special item is used to level up traces and is needed by all characters. Even though we recommend skipping the rail passes with the previous currency, that is not the case here. Once you have purchased the Tracks of Destiny, you should buy all of the Star Rail Passes and Star Rail Special Passes you can.

Even though these are without a doubt the most important items purchasable with Embers, you will probably still have plenty left over. The Tracks of Destiny and both types of passes have a monthly limit on the amount you can purchase. After that, I would spend your Embers as needed on the materials required to level up your characters.

As you complete a variety of different tasks, the game will throw small amounts of Stellar Jade at you. This currency has a lot of potential uses compared to the others, but for the most part, you should get more Warps. If you are targeting the featured banner character, go for the Star Rail Special Pass. Otherwise, go for the Star Rail Pass, especially if you have not yet hit your 300 Warp pity.

You can spend Stellar Jade on replenishing your trailblaze power, but you should instead buy more Warps.

More currencies than we can count

Those are the three most important and abundant currencies in the game, but what about the rest? Credits are very plentiful and are spent in small quantities on practically everything such as leveling characters and enhancing light cones. Oneiric Shards are the paid currency that can be used in place of Stellar Jade for its respective purchases.

Finally is the currency Hertareum.  As you progress through the game and visit new worlds you will unlock more local shops that accept Hertareum. These shops typically carry unique recipes, Eidolons, and various other general materials. Most of the time you will just buy what you need as you need it as supply seems to outpace demand when it comes to this currency.

These are without a doubt the best ways to spend your currency in Honkai: Star Rail. It is likely we will come across more currencies as future content unlocks. If so, we will update this guide accordingly.
