Best Venti Builds, Weapons, and Teams in Genshin Impact

Man, he really sucks.

Venti is a 5-star Anemo Bow user in Genshin Impact. He excels in crowd-control and debuffing enemies as an off-field DPS and support. Here are the best artifacts, weapons, and teams for the Anemo Archon!

As an off-field DPS, Venti can be built with full Elemental Mastery (EM) or full CRIT.

EM Venti is somewhat easier to build, since you really just need EM main stats on your artifacts with a few ATK% and Energy Recharge substat rolls. It does good damage in AoE with Swirls at the cost of Venti’s raw Anemo damage. Unless you plan to hyper-invest in him, EM Venti is the generally recommended build.

CRIT Venti focuses on raw Anemo damage at the cost of Swirl damage. This results in higher and more consistent single-target damage but slightly less AoE damage. It takes a bit more artifact investment (or Constellations) in order for CRIT Venti’s overall damage to be comparable to EM Venti’s, but CRIT Venti makes better use of external ATK and DMG buffs.

Venti’s Burst is the highlight of his kit. It deals continuous Anemo damage, as well as additional damage of the first element it comes into contact with. It also has an extremely strong crowd-control effect, pulling enemies toward its center and lifting smaller ones up.

No matter his build, Venti will generally use his tap Skill, then Burst, then swap. You should try to swap to him again at a later point in your rotation to use his Skill a second time. You can cancel your Skill animation early by doing a Normal Attack, which will let you switch to your teammates sooner.

Weapons

Elegy for the End
Venti’s signature Bow actually results in less personal damage than Stringless, but its team buff is well worth it. Note that with shorter rotations, Elegy’s team buff will only activate every other rotation. This bow is better on EM Venti than CRIT Venti, but usable for both.

The Stringless
Despite its 4-star status, Stringless is the best weapon for EM Venti. Even with CRIT Venti, it outperforms some 5-star Bows. It is a gacha-only weapon, but as a 4-star, it’s relatively easy to obtain over the course of your wishes. Even at Refinement 1, use it if you have it.

Polar Star
Polar Star is the best Bow for CRIT Venti, though you’ll have to adjust your rotations to include a quick Normal Attack and Aimed Shot in order to fully stack its passive. It’s not that much better than Stringless though, so I don’t recommend pulling it specifically for Venti.

Other 5-star Bows
Other CRIT Bows like Aqua Simulacra, Hunter’s Path, The First Great Magic, and Skyward Harp do fine on CRIT Venti. They’re pretty comparable to Stringless though, so I don’t recommend pulling them for him if you already have Stringless.

Favonius Warbow
If all else fails, there’s always Favonius. You’re guaranteed to have at least one Favonius Warbow after completing the Mondstadt Archon Quests. It cuts his damage quite a lot for both EM and CRIT builds, but it works fine as an interim option until you can get Stringless.

Artifacts

4pc Viridescent Venerer (4VV)
The bread and butter of any Anemo character. This is Venti’s best set for both EM and CRIT builds. It will lower enemy RES to whatever element Venti Swirls, increasing both personal and team damage. Venti must be on-field for this effect to count, but this is usually not an issue.

4pc Emblem of Severed Fate (4EoSF) / 2pc combos
For CRIT Venti only in certain situations. If another character on your team has 4VV equipped, then 4EoSF on Venti can sometimes result in more damage. Even then, the difference is small. 2pc combos of ATK and Anemo DMG are less effective in general, but potentially better with Faruzan and Bennett.

CRIT Rate/DMG

When Venti uses two Skills in a single rotation, he should aim for around 165% Energy Recharge. Some teams only leave room for one Skill, which necessitates either 200%+ Energy Recharge or some Favonius procs.

As long as Energy needs are met, EM Venti just needs EM main stats. ATK% and CRIT substats are always nice, but they’re not as impactful for EM Venti as they are on CRIT Venti. If you’re unable to obtain EM main stats on all three pieces, you can use two EM pieces and one ATK or Anemo DMG piece.

CRIT Venti cares more about substats. Build him with the typical DPS spread: CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. Interestingly, an ATK goblet can work on CRIT Venti almost as well as an Anemo DMG goblet. This is because ATK benefits both Venti’s Anemo damage as well as his infused element damage.

Teams

Venti is extremely flexible, and you can generally bring him any time you need crowd-control or 4VV utility. His crowd-control is so strong that most content in Genshin Impact can be divided into two categories: Venti-able and not Venti-able.

Against Venti-able groups of enemies, Venti is the single best character in Genshin Impact. He trivializes combat by completely immobilizing enemies in his Burst. Combine his crowd-control with Freeze, and his enemies just don’t get to move. Ever.

Enemies that are not Venti-able may resist his crowd-control, but he is still able to provide 4VV debuffs and deal some damage. This applies mostly to bosses, since most normal enemies can still be pulled together to some degree. Content that is not Venti-able can often become Venti-able with Freeze.

You should also consider whether your teammates are able to hit smaller enemies lifted by Venti’s Burst. However, if an enemy is light enough to be fully lifted by Venti’s Burst, it’s usually weak enough to not worry about.

Here are some example teams to try out!

  • Venti – Ganyu/Ayaka – Hydro – Cryo
  • Venti – Ganyu/Ayaka – Shenhe – defensive flex
  • Venti – Wanderer – Faruzan – Bennett
  • Venti – FischlXingqiu/Yelan – flex
