The Witcher 3: Remastered is now available on PC, and there’s a chance you may be having some performance issues. In this guide, I will go through the best graphics settings for the Remastered version of the game.
Best The Witcher 3: Remastered graphics settings
While the Remastered version has certainly improved the visuals, the requirements have remained the same. While most of us should easily have setups capable enough to run the game, the changes you make should be focused on getting better optimization.
- Display Mode: Fullscreen
- VSync: Off. This is an offline RPG, so there’s no benefit to using VSync. You should turn this on only if you’re encountering stutters.
- Resolution: It should match the native settings of your monitor.
- Max FPS: 60 FPS remains the sweet spot. There’s no real need to use more in a single-player game.
- Hardware Cursor: Off
- Ray Tracing: While my PC seems to run this alright, you should keep this off unless your system is capable enough.
- Path Tracing: Off
- Anti-Aliasing: Off. If you have lag, this is better turned on.
- Quality: Performance.
- Dynamic Resolution Scaling: Off
- Frame Generation: Off
- NVIDIA HairWorks: Off
- Sharpening: Off
- Motion Blur: Off
- Blur: Off
- Bloom: Off
- Depth of Field: On
- Chromatic Aberration: Off
- Vignetting: On
- Light Shafts: Off
- Camera Lens Effects: Off
- Number of Background Characters: Medium
- Screen Space Shadows: Off
- Terrain Quality: Medium
- Water Quality: Low
- Foliage Visibility Range: Medium
- Grass Density: Medium
- Texture Quality: Medium
- Detail Level: Low
The Remastered version has also revamped some of the older systems, giving us some new stuff to learn. You can try them out on your existing save or begin a new one to get the true remastered experience.
