The Sinking City 2 is now available on PC and consoles, and tweaking the in-game settings can help get better performance on your setup. The game works pretty well on my end, but I did encounter occasional lag and stutters until I made a few changes.
In this guide, I will go through a list of settings you can use to run The Sinking City 2 smoothly on your device.
Best The Sinking City 2 graphics
Here’s a quick rundown of my current setup.
- AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
For this guide, I have focused more on devices that are closer to the minimum requirements. If you have a more powerful rig, you can scale up certain values by one.
- Screen: Personal preference
- Upscaling: None. However, turn this on if you’re struggling with lag.
- Resolution Quality: 100%.
- V-Sync: Off. However, turn this on if you’re getting stutters. Having it turned on will reduce the FPS to a certain extent but increase the smoothness of the game.
- FPS Limit: 60 FPS. This seems like the sweet spot for now, and it doesn’t cause any hindrance.
- Motion Blur: Off
- Graphics Preset: Custom
- View Distance: Medium
- Anti-Aliasing: Low
- Post-Processing: Medium
- Textures: Low
- Effects: Medium
- Foliage: Low
- Reflections: Low
- Global Illumination: Low
- Shading: Low
- Hair: High
I noticed the most significant change after I capped the FPS, so I assume that’s a problem in the current build. When writing, The Sinking City 2 is still awaiting its full launch. I expect some issues to be resolved as we get a few post-launch patches.
