The Sorcerer is one of the most powerful classes in Mistfall Hunter, but you have to get a proper build to use it effectively. You have excellent offensive potential and range with the class, but it’s a glass cannon.

Mistfall Hunter Sorcerer class overview
As a Sorcerer, you will play the role of your team’s main carry. Whether you are playing solo or in a trio, your task is to stay in the back and dictate the tempo of the battle. Unlike other classes, the Sorcerer has incredible AOE potential with its spells. You can use these spells to determine how the enemy will behave. The idea is to hit them from range before they can react.

However, this class is not without its fair share of weaknesses. Before I discuss the build, here are the main strengths and weaknesses of the Sorcerer class that it’s best to be aware of.
Pros
- Amazing range of attacks
- Varied skills that allow for different builds
- Immense DPS potential with the correct build
- AOE spells allow you to dictate the tempo of a battle
Cons
- Getting in close range with an enemy can be your end
- One of the lowest survivabilities in the game
- You’ll need to focus heavily on positional play to avoid getting trapped by the enemies
- You must micromanage your resources and skill energy
That said, it’s not all doom and gloom with the Sorcerer. Before we dive into the build, it’s essential to understand the different skills.
All Sorcerer skills in Mistfall Hunter
The Sorcerer has two major schools of skills: Elemental and Stardust. However, there are some shared skills as well.
Elemental
| Skill | How it Works |
|---|---|
| Elemental Affinity | When Elemental Magic hits an enemy, apply 1 stack of Elemental Mark. When the target reaches 2 stacks, consume all Elemental Marks to trigger an elemental reaction and deal Magic Damage. |
| Fire Bolt | Hold to chant and launch a Fire Bolt. The projectile explodes after striking a unit or terrain, dealing Magic Damage and applying Burning for a short duration. Release the skill early to recover Energy and fire a weaker bolt with reduced maximum range. |
| Flameblade | Conjure a blade of flame and slash the area in front of you, dealing Magic Damage and applying Burning to enemies hit for a short duration. |
| Crystal Icebolt | Summon 2 Crystal Icebolts that orbit around you. When you are attacked, one Icebolt automatically launches toward the attacker. After the skill’s duration ends, any remaining Icebolts launch forward. |
| Deep Freeze | Release a cone of freezing air in front of you, dealing Magic Damage and reducing the Movement Speed of enemies hit for a period of time. |
| Thunderstrike | Hold to chant and summon lightning at the selected location, dealing Magic Damage to enemies within range. Release the skill early to recover Energy and summon a weaker lightning strike after a short delay. |
| Thunderstorm Sigil | Hold to chant and place a Thunderstorm Sigil at the selected location. After a short delay, the sigil summons a lightning storm that deals Magic Damage and inflicts Dazed on enemies within range. |
| Thunder Pierce | Hold to chant and launch a long-range thunder spear, dealing Magic Damage to enemies hit. If the spear does not hit an enemy, it creates an electric field at its destination. The field continuously deals Magic Damage and applies a stacking Movement Speed reduction, up to 5 stacks. |
Stardust
| Skill | How it Works |
|---|---|
| Meteor Charm | Hold to chant and launch a flying star. The star explodes when it strikes a unit or terrain, dealing Magic Damage to enemies within range. Release the skill early to recover Energy and launch a weaker flying star. |
| Meteor Impact | Hold to chant and summon multiple meteors that travel forward. The meteors deal Magic Damage and knock enemies into the air. Each meteor shatters after striking a unit or environmental obstacle. |
| Rockblast | Hold to chant and gather rocks around the selected location. After a short delay, the gathered rocks explode and deal Magic Damage to enemies within range. |
| Star Shock | Release a ring of stellar energy around yourself, dealing Magic Damage and knocking back all enemies within range. |
| Stardust Tempest | Hold to chant and summon a Stardust Tempest at the selected location. The tempest continuously deals Magic Damage and reduces the Movement Speed of enemies within range. |
| Stardust Torrent | Hold to chant. After the chant is completed, continue holding the skill to guide a torrent of Stardust toward the target area. The torrent continuously deals Magic Damage and becomes stronger as the channeling duration increases. |
| Gravitational Vortex | Hold to chant and summon a Gravitational Vortex at the selected location. After a delay, the vortex pulls all enemies within range toward its center and deals Magic Damage. If 2 or more enemies reach the center of the vortex, they are also inflicted with Stunned. |
Shared Staff Magic
| Skill | How it Works |
|---|---|
| Arcane Armor | Hold to chant and gain Arcane Armor, increasing your Physical Resistance and reducing enemy Movement Speed for a period of time. |
| Cryptic Ward | Use Cryptic Ward to Block incoming damage. Successfully performing a Perfect Block knocks back and stuns the attacker. |
| Eye of Insight | Hold to chant, then scan all enemy players within a large area. Eye of Insight has a limited number of uses per match. |
| Forbidden Gate | Hold to chant and summon a Forbidden Gate at the selected location. The gate is a Construct that blocks units and consumes enemy projectiles that touch it. Allied projectiles can pass through the gate normally. The construct is more durable in trio mode. |
| Mistwalk | Enter Mist Mode. While transformed, you are unaffected by most external effects except the Gyldenmist, but your Movement Speed is greatly reduced. Most actions are disabled during Mist Mode, although you can still use Dodge. |
| Phantom Step | Hold to chant and gain increased Movement Speed while silencing your footsteps. While Phantom Step is active, falling does not deal damage or cause Stagger. |
| Shadow Veil | Hold to chant and enter Stealth for a period of time. Your Energy does not regenerate while Shadow Veil is active. |
| Windcraft | Cast a burst of wind forward, dealing Magic Damage and knocking back enemies hit. |
Best Mistfall Hunter Sorcerer build
There are two different aspects to the Sorcerer build. First, the school of magic: Elemental or Stardust. I opted for Elemental Magic because of one simple reason.
If you opt for the Stardust Magic route, you will get skills that have long casting times, so you will have to be precise with your timing. As a beginner, this can be quite difficult to master. If you go for the Elemental Magic route instead, your skills will be much more forgiving. A mistake or two might not be fatal.
For this build, I have gone with a hybrid of different elemental skills. A great alternative is to go with pure lightning, but that poses a problem. While the lightning abilities have great range and sustained damage, they struggle against melee-heavy enemies.

The build I have opted for instead is a hybrid of different elemental skills and allows you a bit of room to save yourself if someone gets too close.
- Fire Bolt: Your standard fire spell that launches a fiery bolt towards the enemy. Landing two/three of them on the same enemy can kill them. It has great damage and fast casting times, but lacks range.
- Deep Freeze: The Deep Freeze is a great counter for melee enemies, as you can cast the spell to reduce their movement speed. This allows you to maintain your range and keep doing damage while they try to chase you down.
- Thunderstorm Sigil: This is your ranged option with this build, as you can trigger a lightning strike on the enemy from a distance. If you manage to land it successfully, the enemy will be stunned.
For your General skills, here are the correct options.
- Cryptic Ward: Allows you to stop red power attacks of bosses. You can also use the same move to perform a Perfect Block against melee enemies that will stun and knock them back.
- Forbidden Gate: A great defensive move that creates a barrier between you and the enemy. It also stops all incoming projectiles, while allowing your allies to fire through.

These are the two key General skills that are required for all Sorcerer builds. The remaining slot choice is up to you and how you play.
Here are the top Talents for this build.
- Masterful Technique: A must-have for an Elemental build, as it raises your movement speed after casting a spell.
- Elemental Arcana: Triggers additional elemental effects when you cast your skills.
- Rapid Flamestrike: Your Fire Bolts will now do True Damage.
- Furious Thunder: Slows down enemies stuck by Thunderstrike, and the effect can stack up to two times.
- Unobstructed Passage: Your allies can now pass through the Forbidden Gate and gain movement speed.
- Enhanced Ward: Reduces the base cooldown of your Cryptic Ward ability.
- Survival Instinct: Allows you to manage your energy better and more efficiently.
Here’s the list of weapon affixes to go for with this build.
- Eloquence: Raises your chanting speed and also prevents chanting from being interrupted by minor attacks at certain levels.
- Ranged: Increases the damage on your long-range skills. At certain levels, it also raises the ranged damage’s Effective Range.
- Elusive: Allows you to reduce the cost of a dodge. Get this to level three to get three bars of dodges.
- Valor: Allows you to buff your attack and Defense Penetration.
The Sorcerer class is better suited for the Trio game mode, in my experience. While you can solo it, the current meta dominance of the Mercenary and the Withered Knight will put you at a disadvantage. When you are playing in a team, you can stay back, get your allies to tank, and keep doing the damage. In solo, you won’t have that much freedom, as you will also have to actively dodge and anticipate the incoming attack.
