The Shadowstrix is a really entertaining class in Mistfall Hunter, offering plenty to do on the battlefield. It’s not the easiest class to master, as it’s heavily PvP-focused. That said, it lacks survivability, so running the correct build is highly necessary.
In this guide, I will show you what I think is the best possible build for the Shadowstrix. I have not purely focused on either PvP or PvE, and have gone for something that’s more balanced so you can tackle all situations.

Mistfall Hunter Shadowstrix class overview
Before we dive into the build and how it works, it’s important to understand how the Shadowstrix operates in battle. This is the staple assassin class of Mistfall Hunter, and it comes with plenty of ways to deal damage, unlike the Mercenary or Withered Knight.
You will rely heavily on your stealth, always trying to surprise the enemy. The aim is not to approach an enemy directly and do damage, as we do with the Mercenary. Instead, you’ll use your tricks and mobility to get behind them. This allows you to target them from advantageous angles and deal tons of damage.
This is also why I think that the Shadowstrix class is ideally meant for PvP, but you can still kill plenty of bosses and minions with the correct build.
Pros
- Incredible DPS potential
- Lightning fast attacks
- Ability to go invisible and catch enemies unaware
- Having stealth allows you to move across the map quicker and remain hidden when required
- Easier opportunities to grab chests and loot
- Amazing in Trios with other classes like Mercenary and Withered Knight that can tank damage
Cons
- One of the lowest survivability rates
- Requires a lot of patience to learn the moves
- Combos are complex, and you need to know how to time them
- Countered by melee-heavy enemies
Since the Shadowstrix can jump in and out of battles, it is great against classes like the Sorcerer, the Seer, and the Blackarrow. It will struggle against the Mercenary and the Withered Knight. Both the Mercenary and the Withered Knight are extremely melee-heavy classes that prefer enemies in their faces. This is something you want to avoid with the Shadowstrix because it doesn’t have the highest health.
The build below is a hybrid between PvP and PvE, but I have focused more on the latter. I am playing on the AP servers, and I don’t get too many PvP encounters. I will also add some adjustments you can make to the build to focus it more on PvP.
But before that, let’s go through all skills of this class.
All Shadowstrix skills in Mistfall Hunter
While the Shadowstrix class has few basic skills, it can efficiently switch between the two weapons. The weapon skills are pretty contrasting and highlight the different playstyles you can adopt.

Best Shadowstrix build in Mistfall Hunter
You can adopt one of two routes with the Shadowstrix. You can either go with the Dagger or Dual Blades. In this build, I have opted for Dagger as Dual Blades are better suited for PvP encounters.
PvE
Here are some of the core skills to use with this build.
- Shadow Wheel Slash: The staple of this build: it performs a three-stage attack that deals plenty of physical damage. Press the left mouse button after each stage to perform a branch attack. While the combo has a limited time, it’s not very difficult to master.
- Sneak: Press the left and right mouse buttons to enter stealth for a limited period. Use this to get around hard enemies or to surprise other human players.
- Poison Crow Mark: Aim at enemies and then throw a Poison Crow Mark to deal Physical Damage. This will reduce their movement speed and dodge distance.
- Flash Stride: Allows you to dash forward and do damage to all enemies in the path. If you are playing in trios, this ability will have a shorter cooldown.
Here are some key talents to use with this build.
- Ankle Cut: Reduces the movement speed of enemies hit by Shadow Wheel Slash
- Shadow Slash: Branch the Shadow Wheel Slash to reduce the cooldown of Sneak.
- Bloodthirst: Resets Sneak’s cooldown and restores energy upon killing an enemy.
- Sneak Prep: Recover energy when hitting enemies with Poison Crow Mark.
PvP
If you want a more PvP-focused build, you will need to make some changes. Here are the Basic and Weapon skills to use.
- Pursuit Strike: Perform a dash and deal multiple hits of Physical Damage.
- Flurry Strike: After launching a light strike, press the right mouse button to move backward and then dash forward to deal physical damage. If you hold the right mouse button to perform a level 1 charge, it will increase your damage multiplier and dash distance.
- Bloody Blade Dance: Combine your mouse buttons to channel Bloody Blade Dance, which continuously attacks enemies in front of you and deals physical damage. It does more damage to Gyldhunters.
- Fang Rush: Dash forward to deal damage.
- Crow Storm: Throw a Black Crow towards a target area, which unleashes a crow storm upon arrival. All enemies caught in the storm will take physical damage.
- Phantom Shift: It allows you to aim and teleport to a target area. Once the teleportation is completed, you will gain movement speed for a fixed period.
Here are some key Talents to use with this build.
- Lightweight: Use your dodge as an action cancel that allows you to get out of bad positions.
- Bloodthirsty Frenzy: Once you hit enemies with Bloody Blade Dance, you can increase their physical damage for a period of time. The effect is trackable, and during Bloody Blade Dance, you can deflect all enemy projectiles. Doing so successfully will recover a certain amount of energy.
- Enhanced Crow Storm: Determines the flying speed and maximum range of your crows.
- Combat Euphoria: Increases your movement speed after hitting an enemy.
Here are some key weapon affixes to run with the Shadowstrix.
- Fervor: Raises the magic and physical damage after hitting enemies for a fixed period. You can stack the effect up to five times.
- Seeker: Increases movement speed after hitting an enemy.
- Stoic: Raises resistance when health falls below 50%. Regenerates health when it falls below 30%.
