Warframe is heading to the Sentient planet of Tau at last, though players must harvest a ton of Moonflesh to fuel the voyage. The month-long Epoch Operation: Taubound runs from Oct. 15 to Nov. 17, with a plethora of goodies up for grabs.
Moonflesh is Epoch Operation: Taubound’s core resource. You can trade it with Praghasa for a series of rewards, including Legendary Cores, Tauforged Archon Shards, cosmetics, and the Haalvu Sentient auto rifle. Generosity is by no means rare in Warframe, but the lineup is still pretty stacked.

How to get Moonflesh in Warframe
Moonflesh can drop from any Infested on Eris, though Digital Extremes hasn’t officially released its drop rates at the time of writing. On normal difficulty, each enemy drops two Moonflesh, but that goes up to three on Steel Path. Anecdotally, Infested Eximus seemed to have a bigger chance of dropping it.
Moonflesh isn’t affected by Resource Boosters or pet effects like Resourceful Retriever, as is usual for event currencies. Since they drop from enemies, however, Nekros’ Desecrate might help your odds, but that’s hard to test properly. Zabala on Eris has 30 percent extra drop chance for all resources, but it’s also unclear if this works.
Best Moonflesh farms in Warframe
To farm Moonflesh in Warframe, your best bet is to take on the Moonflesh Locus Alerts, which appear periodically on Eris. These missions are filled with Infested Eximus and grant you another 50 of this resource just for completing the activity on Normal difficulty.
Taking on the challenge on Steel Path gives you an even bigger payoff: three Moonflesh per drop and another 75 when you head back to your stronghold. If you can, farm on this higher difficulty whenever possible. Alerts seem to pop up every 30 minutes to an hour, so there are plenty of opportunities to get them done. They only last 90 minutes, though, so don’t squander them. (The good news is, you’ll always have around three alerts waiting for you if you take a longer break.)
Outside of Alerts, the best spots to farm Moonflesh depend on your preference. Personally, I’d favor endless Dark Sector missions such as Survival (Zabala) and Defense (Akkad) for their bonuses. They’re an easy way to get extra affinity for your weapons and Warframes, particularly on Steel Path, and they scale enemy difficulty better than Exterminate. Bring your shiny new Haalvu, a backup weapon, and get your Sentient gun up and running in no time.
