High-flying mobility SMG with some serious close-range damage output.

One SMG that’s getting a lot of attention recently in Call of Duty: Warzone is the HRM-9. It’s considered one of the meta close-range options, but finding the optimal build is essential. For this class of weapon, you’ll want high mobility, high rate of fire, and massive close-range damage numbers. Additionally, controlling accuracy against opponents in the same room as you will be vital to your success. Here’s how to build out the best HRM-9 SMG class for Warzone season two.

The HRM-9 has a high pick-rate in Warzone so far this season. You might’ve noticed many streamers and top-tier players using it and winning a lot of gun fights. High damage output and easily controllable recoil make it one of the best options right now. Build it out with these attachments:

  • Shadowstrike Suppressor
  • DR-6 Handstop Underbarrel
  • 50 Round Drum Magazine
  • PCS-90 Assault Grip (Rear)
  • Folding Stock

Using these five attachments adds exactly what you need for a premium SMG build. Mobility, thanks to attachments like the Folding Stock, is unmatched elsewhere in the SMG class. Additionally, the under barrel and rear grip attachments lower recoil without sacrificing mobility or making it difficult to use. Finally, the large magazine ensures the HRM-9 is a viable option even in Resurgence Quads, where you’ll likely need all 50 bullets to take out four opponents at once.

If the recoil is easily controllable, even without the DR-6 Handstop, some players may be able to remove it. Subbing out the recoil control option for more mobility, like with a lightweight underbarrel option or a laser, will increase mobility. A laser that allows for better hipfire accuracy could also be useful to some. The choice is yours, but this build is the best option for most players in Season 2.
