Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is now available on PC and consoles, and you can tweak the in-game settings to get the best possible results. The game seems to be pretty graphic intensive based on the official requirements and in-game performance. However, you can easily change the settings to manage the few optimization issues that are there at launch.
Best Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve graphics settings
Before I deep dive into the settings, here’s a quick rundown of my setup.
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
- AMD Radeon 9060 XT 16 GB
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
Despite my specifications being close to the recommended settings, I still made some modifications to improve the performance. For this guide, I have mostly focused on devices that are closer to the minimum settings.
- Screen Settings: Borderless
- V-Sync: Off. However, if you’re focusing on the multiplayer gameplay and getting lags, it might be worth turning on V-Sync.
- Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS is a sweet spot to get great performance without sacrificing on the graphics.
- Bloom: Off
- Motion Blur: Off
- Preset: Custom
- Upscaling Type: AMD FSR
- Upscaling Quality: Balanced/Performance.
- Model Quality: Medium
- Shadows: Low
- Textures: Low (This parameter will have the biggest impact on performance, so it’s best to keep it at low).
- Effects: Medium
- Cloud Quality: Low
- Post-processing: Low (Another parameter that will have a major influence on how the game performs).
- Reflection Quality: Low
- Global Illumination Quality: Low
The general optimization feels on point for large parts, but I expect it to improve as we get close to the full launch of the game on the first of October.
