At long last, Spotify has come to Xbox One

You can use it with a free or premium account

Spotify has been a nice feature to have on PlayStation 4, albeit one I usually forget is available. Now, after way too long, the music-streaming service has come to Xbox One. Today’s the day.

Feature-wise, it’s about what you’d expect:

  • Play music in the background while gaming.
  • Browse playlists from different genres and moods. Or check out new releases.
  • Play your own playlists or songs from Your Music.
  • Search for any song, album, or playlist.
  • Use Spotify Connect to control the music from your mobile device.

Background playback is great for the right type of game — open-world, racing, anything with repetition or grinding — but those are about the only times I end up using it. I need my audio cues!

Xbox One [Spotify — Thanks, Sean]
