Anime Expeditions Tier List – Best Units [🌘UPD2.5]

Updated on September 8, 2026: Added all units from UPD 2 and UPD 2.5.

The best units in Roblox Anime Expeditions aren’t just Secrets since there are some really powerful Mythics. Plus, besides best DPS and best Traits, I’ll also rank the best support units for buffs, debuffs and stalling. Here’s my Anime Expeditions unit tier list and guide.

Anime Expeditions Unit Tier List

Once you check out the tier list above, dive into the individual ranking reasons and best traits for each unit below. As for starting out, get the Time Chamber unit and start with Ban and Riyo for DPS and stalling Legendaries for support (See below). Then try to get the A and S-Tier Mythics for DPS and some of the Support ones for mid-to-late game before you try to go for Secrets.

Best Beginner Units: Ban/Greed and Riyo/Scissors for DPS and other Legendaries for support.

Best Traits: See below for each unit (Investor for Farm).

S-Tier DPS

Unit	Ranking Reason
5th God Hand	• The best mix of DPS and CC in the game • Distortions provide excellent stalling value for your other DPS units while buffing 5th God Hand with Fated Meter and Mark of Fate • Once Marks are applied and Fated Meter is stacked this becomes one of the best DPS units in the game Best Trait: Unbound
Iron Wolf (Struggler)	• A Meta DPS DoT Bleed unit • Has a lot of utility because his bleeds are terrain-based with the Crimson Spills that can become permanent • This means that he’s much better in longer game modes where you can spread your Bleed pools around the whole map Best Trait: Unbound
Sovereign (Djinn)	• Sinbad/Sovereign brought a ton of powercreep to the game and is a top-tier Meta boss killer due to his boss mode • Does massive damage to bosses but also spreads that DPS around with chaining attacks • If that wasn’t enough he also freezes and slows units for a ton of utility Best Trait: Unbound or Primordial Best Equipment: Lightning Dagger, Shinigami Sword, Warrior Pole
Lightning God (Overcharged)	• If Sovereign specializes in single target damage and boss killing, Lightning God is better in terms of AOE and is the best AOE unit in the game • In addition to massive AOE damage you also have stuns for some CC Best Trait: Unbound or Primordial Best Equipment: Storm Trident, Shinigami Sword, Magic Book
Prodigy (Rage)	• Requires cash for upgrades to fully unlock his passives but once he transforms he’s a full AOE damage beast • Comboes incredibly well with supports for status effects but mainly Itachi and other DoT units since he refreshes their DoTs on-hit • Top 3 Meta DPS unit for sure Best Trait: Unbound or Primordial Best Equipment: Mentor’s Cape, Shinigami Sword, Warrior Pole
Crow (Black Fire)	• The Black Fire DoT deals massive damage to bosses, especially with Unbound • The reason Draconic isn’t better is because you cannot reapply the DoT until it expires (Draconic is still good in a pinch) • Crow is a Meta bosskiller Best Trait: Unbound (Alt. Primordial) Best Equipment: Illusion Crow/Magic Book/Shinigami Sword
Head Captain (Char)	• A Mythic Burn unit but is actually Meta since you can stack Burn infinitely and he does more damage the more Burn stacks there are • This means that in a Burn-oriented team Head Captain is a single-target beast • Even if you’re not running a dedicated team he’s still great due to his summons and his nuke Best Trait: Draconic or Unbound Best Equipment: Fiery Staff, Shinigami Sword, Warrior’s Axe
Dark Mage (Sovereign)	• While Dark Mage has support potential with his freezes he’s much better as a Top Meta DPS with Lightning • That said, note that once he switches to Lightning mode it’s better to set his targeting to None so he stays in Lightning mode • This will make him a Full AOE unit since enemies will passively take damage within his range and he won’t switch to Freeze since he’s not attacking • Combine this with Unbound and he’s a Meta AOE crowd clearing monster Best Trait: Unbound Best Equipment: Dark Scepter/Magic Book/Shinigami Sword
Vegetable (Prince)	• If you build your team around him so that he can scale his damage and crit well, he’s the best DPS in the game • That said he does take a bit to fully buff up and requires specific units like the new transforming ones to speed up his buffs • Still a top 3 Meta DPS Best Trait: Unbound or Forsaken Best Equipment: Royal Gi, Shinigami Sword, Magic Book
8th Sword (Berserk)	• Full AOE Meta DPS unit with the highest damage numbers in the game • Combine with Unbound and crit items to reach god-tier DPS • I got him to 60k+ but I feel I could min-max him more • Better damage than Shadow but Shadow has support utility so they’re about equal in power Best Trait: Unbound Equipment: Hair Bells (Spirit City Act 1)/Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Shadow (Divine)	• Amazing Meta Summoner DPS unit • Has incredible DPS and Support potential with the Domain that pushes enemies and buffs magic units • Overall a top Utility/DPS unit that goes great with Dark Mage Best Trait: Unbound Equipment: Hexed Blade (Crafting)/Bamboo Bottle/Magic Book

A-Tier DPS

Elf Mage (Unleashed)	• A follow-up attack Meta DPS machine that’s cheaper than secrets • Scales incredibly well with crits for massive AOE damage • Combos well with Cursed Student for the copy Best Trait: Unbound/Forsaken Equipment: Elven Battle Staff (King’s Tomb Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Sharkfang (Abyssal)	• Very similar to Puppet where she’s an excellent DPS/Support hybrid • She has a ton of CC with slows and rewinds like Puppet with impressive damage to boot Best Trait: Unbound/Primordial Equipment: Tideblade, Shinigami Sword, Bamboo Bottle
Rainman (Forecast)	• Not a meta DPS but still a very viable off-Meta DPS/Support unit with his clouds • They will deal impressive Poison damage while also stunning for great stall potential Best Trait: Unbound/Primordial Equipment: Poison Frog, Shinigami Sword, Bamboo Bottle
Carrot (Unleashed)	• Carrot/Goku is more of a support/DPS hybrid that still deals Meta level damage • This is because in addition to dealing massive damage, he can also teleport friendly units around the map for follow-up attacks • Combo this with Vegeta/Vegetable and Kenpachi/8th Sword or any Meta DPS unit and you’ll have a #1 DPS combo Best Trait: Unbound (Good overall)/Forsaken (Good with teleports) Equipment: Carrot’s Gi, Shinigami Sword, Warrior Pole
Puppet (Telekinetic)	• An amazing mix of massive DPS and support potential/stalling • The support comes from the damage amplification effect and you can mark two enemies with Optics • One of if not the best Mythic in the game since you can run him both as a DPS with Unbound or a support with Optics Best Trait: Unbound for DPS/Optics for Support Equipment: Calamity’s Eye (Fairy King Forest Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Bamboo Bottle
The Drink (Juicebox)	• A sub-Meta DPS unit with a ton of follow-up attack synergy • That said he’s also a Meta support due to his mark that massively amplifies damage on enemies Best Trait: Primordial or Optics Equipment: Pointy Straw, Bamboo Bottle, Warrior Pole
Cursed Student (True Love)	• Meta Summoner and can copy • DPS can be massively boosted with Unbound due to scaling • Draconic is decent too for the DoT boost but Forsaken and Unbound are overall mathematically higher DPS • Bat follow-ups and overall bleed damage make him extremely strong Best Trait: Forsaken/Unbound Equipment: Promise Ring (School Grounds Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Three Swords From Hell

B-Tier DPS

Unit	Ranking Reason
Jester	• A full DPS unit based around cycling weapons • Not Meta level but not bad either • I just put him in B-Tier since A-Tier units deal similar or better damage while also offering more utility or support
Razorjaw (Hunter)	• A strong sub-Meta alternative at the top of A-Tier due the roar for utility and also boosting crit chance • The stagger is a really useful stun/stalling mechanic • Plus you have a full line/path nuke for clearing crowds Best Trait: Unbound/Forsaken Equipment: Predator’s Skull Best Equipment: Predator’s Skull/ Shinigami Sword or Warrior’s Axe / Three Swords From Hell
Sand (Alligator)	• A decent Poison DPS unit but he’s mainly a great CC/Stall support due to his AOE slows Best Trait: Primordial/Optics Best Equipment: Poison Hook, Shinigami Sword, Bamboo Bottle
String Demon (Awakened)	• An impressive DPS/Support that has an amazing CC/Stall passive • Deals lower damage than S-Tiers still incredibly impressive single-target damage which, with his CC, makes him incredibly useful Best Trait: Unbound Equipment: Webbed Fruit (Rose Kingdom Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Lady Giant (Envy)	• Your main damage comes from Giant form even though it slows attack speed • The sub-Meta DPS levels are from when you combine Giant form with Primordial/Unbound attack speed buff and also items that boost attack speed for massive damage • Also has some support utility with walls Best Trait: Unbound/Primordial Equipment: Boulder (Fairy King Forest Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Three Swords From Hell
Crimson (Brother)	• Great off-Meta DoT DPS due to constant bleeds • There’s massive AOE potential here with the markings that explode • Plus he’s better than all B-Tier units Best Trait: Unbound but works with pretty much all traits except Forsaken Equipment: Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Soul Reaper (Released)	• A full critical-based DPS unit that’s just near A-Tier but not quite due to powercreep • That said, if you boost him with crit items and Forsaken for max crit his self-buffs make him decently viable even in the late-game • I don’t recommend Unbound since he scales really well with placements for more buffs and clones Best Trait: Forsaken Equipment: Spirit of the Moonblade (Spirit City Act 1)/Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Toy Maker	• A one-placement Summoner with okay damage and decent utility so she’s realistically a C-Tier • However, Toy Maker has some of the best scaling with Unbound in the game since she’s already one-placement and if you can get it on her she’s a decent B-Tier unit that’s good for the mid-to-late game if you don’t have better picks Best Trait: Unbound

C-Tier DPS

Cursed Immortal (Black Sun)	• Has an interesting alternative playstyle but the DPS numbers aren’t the best • That said, the gimmick offers decent utility that makes him more useful than other C-Tier DPS units Best Trait: Unbound Best Equipment: Memory Pendant
Flame Emperor (Reincarnate)	• An overall powercrept DoT DPS beginner unit with a little support potential • It’s just that the DPS levels are a bit lower for A/B-Tier now with the new units and he’s expensive • He’s good with Hollow and vice versa for the early to mid game Best Trait: Draconic Equipment: Emperor’s Attire (Rose Kingdom Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Magic Book
Hollow (Blaze)	• A DoT unit that requires other fire-based units to be good • Is good with Flame Emperor as a combo for early to mid game Best Trait: Draconic Equipment: Hell’s Flower (Flower Forest Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Three Swords From Hell
True Saint (Holy)	• Your easy-to-get starter that’s quite useful early on • That said the DPS numbers fall off as you get to the late game • Still, there’s some support potential with the overall buff to your team so it’s not a useless unit, just an early-to-mid game focused pick Best Trait: Any (Don’t invest too much)

Best Buff Supports

Silver Falcon	• A Meta team buffer support unit with a ton of potential based around your team composition • Also boosts your economy by increasing Yen gain • One of the best supports
Cubert	• Actually an under-rated DPS/Support since he can deal good damage himself and buff your other Meta DPS units • His cubes get a part of his stats so Unbound makes the cubes deal decent damage and they also stun • Amazing sub-Meta DPS/Support hybrid Best Trait: Primordial, Optics Best Equipment: Pirate’s Slingshot, Magic Book
Kitsune	• Just a simple to use and effective buff unit that’s always good to bring Best Trait: Primordial, Bolt Best Equipment: Pirate’s Slingshot, Bamboo Bottle
The Drink (Juicebox)	• A sub-Meta DPS unit with a ton of follow-up attack synergy • That said he’s also a Meta support due to his mark that massively amplifies damage on enemies Best Trait: Primordial or Optics Equipment: Pointy Straw, Bamboo Bottle, Warrior Pole
Shadow (Divine)	• Amazing Meta Summoner DPS unit • Has incredible DPS and Support potential with the Domain that pushes enemies and buffs magic units • Overall a top Utility/DPS unit that goes great with Dark Mage Best Trait: Unbound Equipment: Hexed Blade (Crafting)/Bamboo Bottle/Magic Book
Puppet (Telekinetic)	• An amazing mix of massive DPS and support potential/stalling • The support comes from the damage amplification effect and you can mark two enemies with Optics • One of if not the best Mythic in the game since you can run him both as a DPS with Unbound or a support with Optics Best Trait: Unbound for DPS/Optics for Support Equipment: Calamity’s Eye (Fairy King Forest Mastery Hard)/Shinigami Sword/Bamboo Bottle
Eclipse Hunter (Savior)	• A weird unit that is placed alongside another unit and has free upgrades with the passive • Either boosts its own damage or buffs the unit its placed alongside with • Only really good for buffing Iron Wolf/Guts or the support Griffith variant Silver Falcon
Various (See >)	Meta Supports • The Hero buffs physical units • Forbidden Teacher buffs magic and comboes well with Shadow Sub-Meta Supports • Ice Queen applies freeze which is excellent beginner support potential • Water Princess protects your units from debuffs Beginner Supports • Ice Mage slows but Salmon Sorcerer is better once you get him Best Trait: Primordial

Best CC/Debuff Supports

Bioinsect (Final Form)	• Quite slow to get going but an incredibly useful support unit if you pair him well • Once you fully upgrade and evolve him with his transformation mechanic you get a Meta CC unit with impressive DPS • Just be careful who you pair him with since his DPS depends on your strongest unit Best Trait: Primordial or Unbound Best Equipment: Mechanical Wings, Shinigami Sword, Warrior Pole
Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1)	• Just a better version of Ice Mage with a massive slow for stalling enemies for your main DPS units • Incredible support potential Best Trait: Primordial Equipment: Technique Amplifier (School Grounds Mastery Hard)
