Rovio title becomes company’s most successful launch in under three hours

Bad Piggies popped on to the App Store last week and it didn’t take long to become Rovio’s most successful game launch to date. It took less than three hours, according to the publisher, to hit the top of the App Store’s rankings, making it the fastest arrival to that coveted position they’ve had yet.

I want to say I’m surprised by this, but everybody on Earth has probably seen the pigs and associates them with Angry Birds, so I’ve no doubt there were a ton of impulse purchases on that basis alone. Add in that Bad Piggies seems like a pretty neat game in its own right and it makes sense. Good for them.
