Shortly after settling in the valley, Phil is eager to prove he’s the best coach around and enlists your help to see what he’s capable of in Disney Dreamlight Valley. He’s hoping to train someone who feels pretty untrainable and tasks you with helping through the An Unlikely Hero quest.

Goofy’s not your typical hero type, but Phil believes he can coach anyone to greatness. To help him achieve his goal, here’s a complete walkthrough for the An Unlikely Hero quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete An Unlikely Hero in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Talk to Goofy

To kick off this quest, track down Goofy around the valley to chat with him. See what he thinks of Phil’s plan so you can officially get started helping him train.

Gather crafting materials for a Weight Training Set

Now that Goofy has agreed to Phil’s training course, you can get started with the process. Your first quest is to gather crafting materials for a Weight Training Set Goofy can use.

• 15 Stone – Can be found when mining rock nodes in all biomes. Kristoff also sometimes sells Stone in his stall, you may get some when clearing away small and big rock obstacles, and digging around Glamour Gulch over in Wishblossom Ranch occasionally grants some.
• Two Gold Ingots – Can be crafted using five Gold Nuggets and one Coal Ore. Gold Nuggets drop from mining rock nodes around Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, Forgotten Lands, Mythopia, and Vitalys Mine. Coal Ore drops when mining rock nodes in all biomes, and can also sometimes be found at Kristoff’s stall or when removing Night Thorns.
• Four Bricks – Can be crafted using five Clay and one Coal Ore, or occasionally bought from Kristoff’s stall when he decides to have it in stock.
• One Citrine – Can be found by mining rock nodes around the Sunlit Plateau and the Glade of Trust. Aladdin also sometimes sells this gem at his stall.

Build a Weight Training Set

Once you’ve got the supplies needed to make this item, head to any crafting station to get going. Click on the Phil quest icon to find the Weight Training Set crafting blueprint and officially craft this item. Then, place this item anywhere you like in the valley.

Talk to Phil about the training

Interact with Phil near the Weight Training Set to chat about how the training is going. Phil decides he needs to take Goofy’s training to the next level by having him face an imposing foe, so he sends you off on a new mission to find one.

Fish out the Ornery Crocodile

The foe Phil wants you to find is an Ornery Crocodile. Head to the Glade of Trust biome and look for a gold bubble spot somewhere in the water near the large willow tree right in the middle of this area.

The exact spawn spot for this creature varies a bit for everyone, so it can be somewhat difficult to find. For me, it appeared in a gold ripple spot in the river right in front of the entrance to Mother Gothel’s tree.

Once you’ve got this creature, head to Phil’s house and chat with him to pass it over.

Catch the Ornery Crocodile running amok in Phil’s House

Goofy is more interested in chatting with the Ornery Crocodile than he is in fighting it, and all his chatting ends up scaring this creature off. Find and pick up the Ornery Crocodile in Phil’s house, then chat with Goofy to see what he wants to do with it.

Ask Joy how to unlock the joy of heroism in Goofy

Phil’s plans for Goofy aren’t quite going the way he’d hoped, so he thinks it’s time to call in some reinforcements. Track down Joy around the valley and chat with her to see if she has any ideas for unlocking the joy or heroism in Goofy.

Change into some villainous clothing

Joy thinks Goofy needs a villain to go up against to inspire acts of heroism within him, and Phil thinks you are just the one to play this role. First, though, you’ve got to look the part, which means changing into some villainous clothing.

You need to wear two items tagged as Bold, Traditional, Elegant, Purple, and Black to progress. If you’re struggling to find ones that work, click on Phil’s quest icon in the wardrobe to filter by the right ones.

Talk to Goofy in your villainous outfit

Now that you look the part, track down Goofy to chat with him in your villainous ensemble. It’s still not enough to bring out his inner hero, and you realize this whole situation is more about Phil wanting to prove himself than it is about actually helping Goofy.

Go ask Hercules if he can help you make an easy chair comfortable enough for Zeus himself

You now shift your focus from helping Goofy become a hero to helping Phil relax, as he seems quite stressed out over the situation. Find and chat with Hercules to see if he has ideas for making an easy chair comfortable enough for Zeus himself.

Gather resources to craft an Olympian Easy Chair

Next up, it’s time to get to work gathering supplies to make a chair for Phil. Luckily, this crafting recipe is on the easier side, and you only need a few items to make it happen.

• Three Olympian Clouds – These are given to you by Hercules upon completing the previous step in this quest, so you already have them at this point.
• Three Cotton – Can be planted and grown from Cotton Seeds, which are available to buy at Goofy’s stall in the Sunlit Plateau biome.
• One Iron Ingot – Can be crafted using five Iron Ore and one Coal Ore. Iron Ore drops from rock spots around the Sunlit Plateau, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Frosted Heights, Forgotten Lands, Vitalys Mines, The Bind, and Everafter.

With all the supplies gathered, head to any crafting station and select the Phil quest icon to craft the Olympian Easy Chair item. Then, go to Phil’s house to deliver the chair.

Put the Olympian Easy Chair in Phil’s House

Once you’re inside Phil’s house, walk over to the corner area where he’s standing. Interact with the sparkles in the corner near the edge of the red rug to place the Olympian Easy Chair. Then, chat with Phil one last time to officially complete the An Unlikely Hero quest.
