Windrose is an adventure you can play with your friends, but even solo, you’re never truly alone. You’ll have six NPCs to find on your journey in the early access version, and they all have different uses. They all perform important roles, so here’s how to find and recruit them.

How to recruit all NPCs in Windrose
In Windrose, some NPCs are introduced as part of different quests. For the rest, you’ll need to complete a few extra steps. The table below has all the important information you’ll need to recruit these NPCs, along with their respective professions.

| Galen Skelton | He is part of the tutorial quest How My Shore Adventure Began. Once you complete the quest, he will be automatically added as a companion. |
| John Doe | You have to first save him by defeating Israel Hands as part of the Needle in a Haystack quest. Then, John will appear at your base, and you can recruit him by completing your conversation. |
| Jasper Crowe | You will find Jasper near the Buccaneer provisioner. To hire him, you’ll need to pay 500 Piastre. Jasper has a 30% chance to recover resources when you spend them to upgrade an item. |
| Black Axel | You can find Black at the People of Tortuga base. You can hire him for 500 Piastre, and he has a 30% chance to craft an extra potion. |
| Rosalinda Mercer | Rosalinda can be found at the Brethren Camp in Tortuga. Like others, you’ll need to spend 500 Piastre. Rosalinda doubles clay bottle production and offers a 30% chance to craft an extra elixir, among other bonuses. |
| Mortar Joe | Located at the Brethren of Coast’s base, you can hire Mortar for 500 Piastre. He will increase your Gunpowder production by 50%. |
Since Windrose is in early access, we might get more NPCs down the line as new quests are introduced. Once that happens, we will update the table with the new information.
