All Fortnite Ranked Levels and Tiers, in order

Where the only measure of one's worth is Ranked Play.

As is the case with many games that have a focus on PvP, it was only a matter of time before Fortnite added Ranked modes. Rather than simply rely on match-to-match rankings, players could climb a ladder to the top all while having their successes proudly displayed on a leaderboard.

Ranking in Fortnite Battle Royale and Zero Build

Ranked play was introduced in v24.40 of Season Zero as an option for the Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. Epic Games would later add Ranked to the Rocket Racing mode. The following party sizes are available for each of the supported modes.

  • Battle Royale
    • Solo
    • Duo
    • Trio
    • Squad
  • Zero Build
    • Solo
    • Duo
    • Squad
  • Rocket Racing
    • Up to four players in a party

To participate in Ranked, players will need to turn it on in each of the respective modes. Placement and progression are dependent on how many enemies are eliminated in Battle Royale and Zero Build modes with later eliminations counting for more. As for Rocket Racing, the closer you come to first, the faster your progression will be.

For matchmaking, if you’re in a party, matchmaking will be based on the highest-ranked player in the group. For example, if your group consists of two Silvers, a Gold, and a Diamond, your entire group will be competing in Diamond. Additionally, all players in a team earn and lose the same amount of progress.

Ranks reset upon a new Season rolling out with placement in the previous Season determining the starting placement in the new Season.

Elite

Upon reaching Elite, rank progression becomes significantly more difficult. While you’ll still progress as you had in the previous ranks, only those who place in the top four will gain “substantial” rank points. To offset this, upon reaching Elite, you can no longer be demoted. This also applies to Champion and Unreal ranks.

Champion

There is nothing special about reaching Champion. Why? Who knows? It’s clearly the middle child of the upper ranks.

Unreal

Upon reaching Unreal, players will maintain that rank for the remainder of the season. To encourage players not to rest on their laurels, Epic Games introduced an Unreal Leaderboard where players can compete to be the absolute best of the best.
