What races are included in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Based on the character creator, the two confirmed Dragon’s Dogma 2 races are Human and Beastren. Elves may also be playable in the near future, as this race is mentioned on Capcom’s official game site. Their description states, “In addition to humans and beastren, a race called elves also inhabit this world.” However, they do not interact with other species and are separate from others in a remote village. This could indicate Elves will be playable later in the story or as NPCs you meet along the way.

Races can be chosen for the playable character (Arisen) and companion (Main Pawn) in the character creation. The left side presents Humans, while the two avatars on the right showcase Beastren. The former comes from the kingdom of Vermund, where many seek to take the throne. Beastren features a more animalistic take, hence the name, and these creatures all derive from Battahl.

Each race also exhibits a feminine or masculine type, along with various Body and Base Head options. By the end of the character creator, you can completely design the avatar’s look in Detailed Customization. For example, adjustments can be made for height, movement style, and tattoos.

Don’t forget to choose a Vocation type to determine the character’s fighting style. Fighter, Archer, Mage, and Thief are available, which will help set the path for your Dragon’s Dogma 2 playthrough. More races could arrive as the release date approaches, but Human and Beastran are the primary selections for now.
