I keep wanting to type ‘event horizon’ and it’s bugging me
One of the many indie developers currently working with Sony is Eiconic Games. They’re calling their RTS Final Horizon, which apparently takes cues from Space Invaders and Aliens, “the evolution of tower defense.” More tower defense, huh? Honestly, I’m more bugged by the fact that it’s called Final Horizon, which is a terribly bland and vague name that does nothing to inform me I’ll be squashing alien bugs, or “Insectors.”
Wait. “Insectors?” Okay. Clearly too much time has been spent articulating and animating each little alien bug limb that someone forgot to learn how to name things. Beetleborgs was less stupid of a name.
Personally, I’m about ready to side with the alien bugs on this one. Doubtless it was the stupid colonists who gave them such a silly, reductive name. Plus, who am I to attack the creatures for protecting their land or planet or pride? I’m not siding with colonists. Unless it’s a colony of alien ants who fierce mandibles ready to tear through the flesh of invading human scum. You know?
