Aion 2 is now available globally, and your first task is to choose a class. At launch, eight classes are available, each with unique abilities and roles. No class is truly bad, but some are definitely stronger than others. In this guide, I will go through which classes you can pick based on their respective strengths and weaknesses.
Complete Aion 2 class tier list
Unlike the traditional system I use for tier lists, I have gone for something different. There are three different tiers.
- S-tier refers to the best possible choice for gameplay and different modes.
- A-tier classes are close to S-tier classes, but you’ll need to focus deeply on your build.
- B-tier classes will require your time and patience for you to understand how they work.
The gameplay of Aion 2 can be broken down into two broad categories: PvE and PvP. I have analyzed the classes accordingly. This tier list also takes into account the performance of the classes during the earlier beta.

| Class | PvE tier | PvP tier | Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gladiator | S | S | This is the best class in the game. When you have a class as strong as the Gladiator, it doesn’t matter whether you’re clearing PvE or PvP content. You can do tonnes of direct damage while chaining CC to control mobs. As a bonus, the skill rotations are immensely easy to learn. |
| Assassin | A | A | The Assassin shines in high single-target damage. It’s definitely better suited to PVp for the same reason. I don’t think this is an easy class to use. You have to be precise with your attacks, and the defense is on the lower side. Hence, A-tier seems like the correct spot. |
| Ranger | S | S | This is my pick for the global server because I love the ranged playstyle. As long as enemies are far from you, you’re good. The objective is to kit enemies with sustained damage from distance. |
| Chanter | B | A | In PvP, this class has a lot of utility when you play in a party. The buffs can improve the attacking potential of your buddies. When you’re clearing PvE content, however, most of your abilities will be underutilized. |
| Cleric | B | A | Similar to Chanter, the Cleric’s real use is to reduce incoming damage and provide heals. Naturally, this works better in PvP content compared to PvE (when you’ll be mostly playing on your own). The default kit of the Cleric class is also really difficult. |
| Sorcerer | S | A | The Sorcerer has one of the highest burst damage-dealing capacities in the game. While the low health will be an issue in PvP, there are no such worries in PvE. Unless NC Soft has made any changes, the Sorcerer might help you clear in-game content in the quickest time. |
| Templar | A | A | The Templar doesn’t really excel in any area, but it does its job efficiently. As a Tank, you can absorb a lot of damage without worrying about dying in the process. |
| Spiritmaster | S | B | Think of this class like the Necromancer in Diablo since the Spiritmaster can summon allies to help in a fight. As such, you’ll always have an advantage in PvE content since you’re never fighting alone. In PvP, the advantage wears off, and the lack of agility will be problematic against the likes of Ranger, Assassin, and Paladin. |
