After several delays, Fallout 76’s massive Wastelanders expansion is nearly here

Here’s the launch trailer

Well, it’s finally happening.

After an E3 2019 announcement that Fallout 76 was going to be completely overhauled in the Wastelanders expansion to give people what they’ve always wanted, NPCs, everyone who kept their copy or bought the game digitally was waiting on that savior patch. And they kept waiting. And waiting.

Wastelanders was delayed several times in fact, including a very recent one week delay. But now Bethesda is finally ready to unleash the expansion, as the April 14 release date seems fairly firm following its codification in the launch trailer below. That’s just five more days until we can decide for ourselves if Wastelanders feels like an incremental update, or the “Realm Reborn treatment” that truly changes the state of the game.

As a reminder, you’ll have to deal with two new factions: the Settlers and the Raiders. In classic Fallout fashion you can interact with both and actually influence and experience a narrative. Novel! This game’s entire existence has been a ride.
