As we told you yesterday, A Boy and His Blob is being brought back for the Wii for its 20th anniversary. The 1989 NES classic is being revived by WayForward (Contra 4), and will feature hand-drawn and painted visual technology.

In this game, the evil emperor has taken the throne of Blobolonia. A blob and his boy companion work together to solve puzzles and defeat baddies in 40+ levels, all while downing a diabetes-worthy number of jelly beans. For those that know the classic and how the transforming mechanic works, there are new jelly beans: Bubble Gum Bubble and Caramel Cannon. Delicious.

All we know now is that this game is coming to the Wii this fall. Oh, and that the new screens look fantastic! Beautiful, even.

I wonder what changes they’ve made to the control scheme, though.
