Infinity Blade update coming next week, multiplayer soon

Infinity Blade is a game made with a console mindset, but iOS users don’t think like console gamers. They want updates, and they want them quick. Chair has admitted that it’s struggling to keep up with the demands of mobile gamers, but has confirmed that an update for its critically acclaimed iOS game will arrive next week.

“We’re all very thrilled with how cool it looks, but the same amount of time it takes to make a high-res character for Gears [of War] is the same amount of time it takes to make one for Infinity Blade or to make these environments,” says Chair’s Donald Mustard. “It takes time to make this stuff look awesome, and we want it to look awesome.”

The game’s big update, which will include multiplayer, is taking some time to prepare, but Chair will be issuing “Booster Packs” full of new gear in the meantime. The first pack arrives next week, which should keep fans happy until a more substantial update in January.

The first Booster Pack contains five new weapons, five new shields, five new helmets and a new set of armor, as well as a fresh enemy to face, the Marrow Fiends. With the new gear, players can increase their level to 45. Future updates will include new areas, greater challenges, and expanded story elements. All for free, just the way we like our App updates!
