Battlefield 3 DLC a ‘timed exclusive’ on PS3

People may have been complaining that the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 got visually short-changed, but at least it’s getting the VIP treatment when it comes to downloadable content. DICE has confirmed that PS3 users will get “full-blown” expansions a week earlier than 360 or PC players.

“You’ll be happy to know that, starting with our first expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand (released later this year), all full-blown upcoming expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PlayStation 3,” proclaimed DICE’s Tommy Rydling on the PS Blog.

It’s certainly not the kind of ridiculous exclusive that Microsoft’s been able to finagle before, but it’s certainly a cool bonus for anybody picking up the PS3 version. Which version are you getting?
