Looking for some reading material today? Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner has put his final, original draft of the Prince of Persia screenplay online in PDF format.Â
According to Mechner, this is the final draft of the script (based on the story pitched to Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer in 2003) before a series of Hollywood writers had their way with it. Four writers to be exact, who took the screenplay around the block before the film, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time starring Jake Gyllenhaal, went into production in 2008.Â
I havent had a chance to read the script myself, but I’d expect a number of changes were made before the film was deemed ready for the big screen by Hollywood execs. Still, Mechner (at least publicly) seems pretty proud with the final results, which just hit DVD and Blu-ray last month.Â
