Ubisoft to patch out From Dust’s stupid PC DRM

Recommended Videos

Ubisoft is going to patch out the asinine From Dust DRM that demands an online verification every time the game is booted up. It’s due to drop in about two weeks.

The two-week wait is apparently so Ubisoft can relocate game saves from its own servers to users’ hard drives. Once the patch is out, an automatic update will ensure that future From Dust sessions will be played offline, without having to constantly prove your honesty to a company that sold you a product and really should just leave you alone.

There’s not yet word on whether or not Ubisoft will also issue a patch that stops From Dust PC being a glitchy mess
