Kongregate app returns to Android App Store

Recommended Videos

The Kongregate Arcade app which was released last week and subsequently pulled by Google has now returned on the Android app store. Google removed the app from the store a few hours following its arrival, where it had been generating a lot of positive buzz. The app was pulled, says Google, because it violated the service’s policy on having marketplace apps within the App store.

Kongregate has now reworked their app in a way which is seemingly satisfactory. Games now download and run within a browser cache instead of being installed as separate entities on the device.

Hopefully that’s the end of all of this. I rather like the app, which I snagged before it was removed, and the mobile contest winners are really good examples of designing specifically to suit touchscreen devices (with varying success). You should probably go snag it now, just in case.
