Final Fantasy VIII coming to US PSN

Recommended Videos

We already knew about Final Fantasy VIII on the Japanese PSN, but today we bring you word that the adventures of Squall and his improbably associated friends will be heading to the United States in the near future. The game has been confirmed for the US PSN store, and it will be coming “soon.”

The news comes from Sony itself in an email to customers, where it was listed in the “coming soon” section. I think that pretty much seals the deal, right?

Final Fantasy VIII had a tough act to follow when it was first released, and has often been seen as a game in the shadow of FF VII. It’s definitely among the most polarizing games of the series, with some fans loving it and others hating it. What side of the fence do you lie on? Did VIII impress you, or were you turned off by Squall’s emo rambling and the infamous “Draw” system?

More importantly: Who’s downloading this bitch?
