Gameloft hits 20 million App Store downloads

Gameloft was one of the first to really jump on mobile games and try to make them…well, good. My iDevices have plenty of their titles on them, but I never realized just how many they’ve made, and how well they sold.

Gameloft announced this week that they’ve exceeded 20 million paid game downloads on Apple’s App Store since the store opened in July 2008. That’s incredible. And don’t group their releases with the multitudes of turds on the App Store: 42 of the 47 titles they released this year made it to the top 5 best-selling games list, with 25 hitting #1.

They’ve now published 100 games since the App Store opened. Here’s to 100 more. This reminds me that I have to pick up Let’s Golf 2.
