Goodbye, free time: Civilization V coming this September

Recommended Videos

A few weeks back, I sat down and literally spent an entire Saturday playing Civilization IV. It’s not like I set out to do a marathon session, either — it just happened. Anyone familiar with the series has likely experienced this strange occurrence at one time or another.

Civilization V has been dated — September 21 for North America and the 24th for everyone else — and I’m both terrified out of my mind and desperately awaiting Sid Meier’s latest like an addict.

Need more? Yeah, I thought so. The game’s website was recently revamped, and it’s worth a look. They’re showing off some civilizations and leaders you probably haven’t heard of yet (in the context of this game), like Darius (Persia), Ramkhamhaeng (Siam), and Hiawatha (Iroquois).

Darius’ representation in Civilization V is kind of badass.
