Joe Mauer cover for MLB 10 The Show unveiled, out March 2

Sony has released the final box art for MLB 10 The Show, and it’s … very blue. You can check out the full cover image, featuring AL MVP Joe Mauer, in the gallery below. While it’s nice to see a cover design that’s different from the past two years of cover-athlete-on-grayed-out-stadium-background, I’m not sure if this was the way to go.

In any case, I don’t really care about the front of the box as much as about what’s in the box, and if my hands-on preview is any indication, MLB 10 is going to bring the goods yet again. With all kinds of gameplay improvements (like collision detection, for once) and new features such as Catcher Mode, I’m as excited as ever to check out the full game, which will be out on March 2, 2010, for the PS3, PS2, and PSP.

What do you guys think — yea or nay on the blue (cerulean, perhaps, to be specific) box art?
