If you’ve just logged into Final Fantasy XIV and realised that the graphic update has changed how you view your character, don’t worry. Dawntrail added a new low-level quest, and it gives you a free Phial of Fantasia.
The new quest is available to all players as long as you’ve completed the following things:
- Have any class or job at level 1
- Complete the level 17 MSQ quest ‘The Scions of the Seventh Dawn’
How to get a free Phial of Fantasia in Final Fantasy XIV
To get a free Phial of Fantasia, head to Ul’dah – Steps of Thal and talk to the not at all dodgy looking Medicine Merchant (X:13.4 Y:9.2) to pick up the quest called ‘Bottled Fantasy’.
Completing this quest is very easy:
- Head to the Steps of Nald via the main Aetheryte and deliver the phial of mysterious liquid to the Diminutive Gladiator (X:10.3, Y:9.2)
- Go back to the Sapphire Exchange Avenue and talk to the Medicine Merchant again to complete the quest
Once you’ve done this, follow the regular instructions for using a Fantasia, then right-click the phial in your inventory and click “use.”
After that, you’ll have sixty minutes of game-time to tweak and change your character, so you can experiment with facial features or even a whole new race if you’re feeling adventurous! Don’t forget, once that sixty-minute window expires, you’ll need to purchase another Phial of Fantasia from the FFXIV Online Store if you’re still not happy with your character.
