2009 Tokyo Game Show to feature 493 titles, 55 exhibitors

Tokyo Game Show is only two weeks away. Our team is already preparing for the trip by making schedules and appointments and such. On my personal schedule is to bring Colette to a host bar and then surprise Rey with a trip to a soapland. And then make Nick eat something Japanese. He normally only eats round eye food.

We’re also there to see games. Tokyo Game Show’s information release this morning says that there will be 493 games on the show floor this year, coming from 55 exhibitors. Quick math says that’s…123 games per editor! Oh sh*t! Oh, wait: 130 of them are mobile phone titles. That helps a bit. Surprisingly, there are 76 PC titles this year. I wonder if they’re all eroge, though.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Personal Computer/76
  • Mobile Phone/130
  • Nintendo DS/41
  • Xbox360/17
  • PlayStation 3/12
  • PlayStation Portable/11
  • Wii/8
  • Others/161 (wtf?)

As for game genres, most of the titles (115) are action games. Role-playing titles? There’s 52 of them. Check out the full breakdown by genre after the jump.
